I don't buy second hand.buying a new phone isnt really neccesary. they always come with third class specs at high prices, i'd rather buy a second hand with better hardware and better display rather than buying a new one with crap specs and outdated v notch. yet this a23 uses PLS LCD. which is huge downgrade in terms of display from the a22 with AMOLED

They know they can get away with charging what they do because all the US carriers basically stomped out competition with VoLTE/NR whitelisting and proprietary bands. Verizon kicks your device off if it's not a US specific model where the manufacturer made deal with them beforehand, AT&T is shutting 3G down and only allows recent unlocked phones or AT&T only models of phones from ~2015 and up on VoLTE, and T-Mobile uses band 71 for their extended/indoors/rural 5G coverage (which is a repurposed american TV frequency that no international models use). Otherwise you could buy a $200 midrange phone or $450 flagship.
