walkman8, 03 Sep 2022I know it's an ancient technology, that's my poin... moreDid you even read the first paragraph of the article?
"A week ago T-Mobile and SpaceX announced a partnership that will enable smartphones to connect directly to satellites. This will be supported by upcoming Starlink V2 satellites, but will work with existing phones because it will use an existing band in the PCS spectrum.
Google SVP of Platforms & Ecosystems Hiroshi Lockheimer announced on Twitter that the company is working on building satellite communication support into the next version of Android (v14)."
What do you expect Google to do? Wait until T-Mobile and SpaceX to finish the work and start working on it?

Hertzee, 02 Sep 2022I'm still in android 11, 13 is out, still haven't... moreAnd? What features are you missing from Android 12 or 13?
I have an Android 12 phone and a secondary phone with Android 11. They both perform similar. And I am not missing anything on the Android 11 phone (and is a budget model). By the way, they are both on August Security patch, which for me is more important than any OS update.
This whole thing, "Ohh, my phone will not receive Android 13 or 14, I am so sad and depressed", is just nonsense. If the phone works good, without bugs, and it receives security updates at least one per 3 months, for me is perfect (I can be even on Android 10, for all I care).
