They can use Unisoc tiger or even JLQ if they really have to make it cheap. Tho i expect no less than SD680. But clearly not mtk A22, its 2022 ffs

Good design
Meh CPU
Didn't realy care both the display or the camera. Memory is aslo understandable since it use Go version.
But it would be better if they choose octa core like A25/SC series
Or atleast Unisoc T310 (quad core A75 & A55) which much better than A22

Android One phones are promised 2 OS and 3 years security updates. Mi A2 was launched in July 2018, so July 2021 security patch should be the last.

annonymous, 05 Sep 2022no they don't. I am using Mi A2 since 2019 and last up... moreI have my Mi A3 for 2.5 years now and it has been serving me well. Performance is not mind blowing but adequate for my use case. The battery life is still amazing at 87% capacity according to Accubattery.
My A3 never got the dreaded boot loop after each OS update. I like to wait for at least 2 weeks before installing any OS update. I believe waiting is best applied to all phones because the bugs reported by early updaters are usually ironed out after 2 weeks. I also practice it on my Samsung A52 and on my wife's Iphone 11 Pro Max.

They do not provide quality update as they should. Many update received by Mi A series have complains of boot loop and other issues.

Don't know why people have to take the P1ss out of these budget blowers it will be fine for the average Joe to use that doesn't care to much for the other stuff other than calls and some light browsing. It's cheap it will sell well fact!

Worst thing is they are giving dual speakers in Redmi A1, but not in Redmi 9 or 10. Xiaomi used to give IR blaster till Redmi 8, but when Redmi 9 (India) came I see nothing like that. Xiaomi is trying to save the sensors (even compass too) on Cheaper phones. For some people it takes a lot to buy a smartphone. I still remember back in 2020 we lost our only smartphone cause it burner down cauz of a fault in electricity and then whole family decide to buy a better phone. And It was Redmi 9 (India). I thought Redmi 8 had IR blaster and Compass sensor and boom Redmi 9 just doesn't have it 😅 and no Type-C even (single speaker too, which is not loud enough at all when I play music I always feel that there are just higher frequency and tuning is not natural at all, but pathetically when someone else plays songs in their phone and I have to watch a video or some the difference is apparent the cheaper phone sounds too less ) . Xiaomi is getting crappy nowadays. If you got less money try to go with realme (but realme's USB port is upside down so remember that too.)

Software support should have stopped in July 2022 but it received Aug 2022 security patch 2 weeks ago. Now I am curious how long Xiaomi going to send security patches after the promised 3 years.
