They recently opened their own high tech production facility which is completely separate from Huawei. Before the 'sale' they either relied on Huawei's factories or third party manufacturers. If you use flagships from Huawei and flagships from Honor you can also see quite different image processing. Prior to the split, in China you could bring your phone to Huawei service centers for maintenance but now that is not the case. You have to go to Honor service centers now. I don't know how connected they still remain but they are definitely less connected than before.

Take it easy if you don't want to be the same position Huawei has right now. If they notice that you are rising up you will feel the monopoly and may end up like Huawei.

notafanboy, 05 Sep 2022The whole industry right now is waiting for innovation and ... moreYou're saying that Honor's innovations are 5G, display and cameras? Which are supplied from, of course, different companies? I get that you're fan of them but defending them by saying that these, nowadays basic features, are innovative is a serious nonsense. But everyone has right for an opinion so i'll leave it like that.

The three pillars of innovation for Honor are 5G, smartphone display technology and cameras. One thing they still share with Huawei is the experience and that is something that you cannot immediately disconnect. A lot of people have asked if they still have any secret information that they still share with Huawei and the answer is no.

CompactPhones5ever, 05 Sep 2022Q: "Why did you omit wireless charging?" A: &quo... moreHonor is trying to steal some of Xiaomi's thunder. They can't match BBK in the wired charging speed, so they're gunning for the fastest wireless charger trophy with their Honor Magic 4 Pro. And honestly, it's working. That phone is the fastest wireless charger now, pulling ahead of their previous 66W cap and Xiaomi's 67W wireless chargers on their Mi 11 Pro/Ultras.

Honor is trying to be the company to look for when someone wants the flagship with the fastest wireless charging. And if they include cheaper ones for their midrangers, that spoils their reputation.

CompactPhones5ever, 05 Sep 2022Q: "Why did you omit wireless charging?" A: &quo... moreThis is exactly why these so called "interviews" (advertisement by another name) are pointless. Every answer they gave might as well have been "we'll do whatever the hell we want, we don't care what you plebs think"

And they didn't even ask them about their ridiculous high pricing. More expensive than Samsung in the same segments

Funny that both Huawei and Honor have phones that use same cameras and lenses of same FL. 😏

Q: "Why did you omit wireless charging?"
A: "Wireless charging still has an issue in terms of speed"

Ok so rather than giving people an option to charge wireless slowly, they can't use this option at all, because who knows what hells could break loose if they charged their phones slower than 50W

What is he even talking about ???
What Innovations ??? All of their phones are copy of Huawei and same sensors. Same screens. He blames it with an excuse: Phones are too similar these days. Cut the BS. You are just the sidekick of Huawei and claim the Independence to Inflate the Western market after getting the ban.

What independence ??? You still heavily funded by Chinese Goverment and hand over the data to them.

What is the point of Flexing the building and your HQ ? That is the old Huawei building. Now rebranded as Honor. You literally have all the Huawei assets just rebrand them. Same as Poco is doing with Xiaomi.

This guy is a jok with his Kim Yong haircut

He is totally wrong about big phones. Slowly more and more people is getting tired of big phones and want smaller ones. It shouldn't be hard for them to release a phone with the size of Zenfone 9, Xperia V or the regular Galaxy S22 but if they want to copy what others are doing then their it's their decision.. But Xiaomi will win them that being a trend copy-cat

                                Magic 5 Ultimate = imx989

US: we banned Huawei & Honor because they are linked to the chinese government
Huawei: we are selling our sub-brand Honor to the Shenzhen government and some private investors
US: this is fine give Honor access to US tech again
                                  everyone: wtf?!

PS: not really buying it that the brands really split 🤷‍♂️ which I don't care about but I'm just not believing it when their phones still look like rebrands from Huawei. I miss the competition though because they really pushed the industry forward. RIP Huawei ❤

I find it funny they mention "independence from Huawei" when they are probably just a block away from Huawei R&D offices lol.

I know this is meant as a marketing campaign to win customers back, but lets be honest here first and foremost.

Surely slow wireless charging is better than no wireless charging!

These companies don't ask customers what they want, they tell them what they want.
