It's crazy, when a device is unveiled in China, it feels like it's been unveiled in another planet altogether. No word regarding when or if the device will be available outside China, prices are totally VAT-less (understand worthless) and importing one will result in maybe 30-50% of increase upon that approximate conversion.

Honestly, I think GSMA should stop covering China-exclusives until they're OFFICIALLY coming to the west. Because until then, even knowing they exist is basically useless since we legit can't get our hands on one.

It feels like "New MATE 50 just been unveiled on Mars, no words on Earth availability"
Then what's the point of even talking about it ? It's so frustrating

They don't want to import their devices to the west ? FINE
Then no western website should allow them ANY coverage, period.

Hi can someone please clarify something? This mate 50 pro has 3.5x optical zoom, does this mean that the 10x optical zoom on the p40 pro plus is better/sharper than the zoom on the mate 50 pro?

Also, the Mate 50 Pro RS Version has a 48-megapixel super macro telephoto camera (F3.0 aperture, OIS optical image stabilization), how much better is the telephoto camera on the RS edition compared to the 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (F3.5 aperture, OIS optical image stabilization) on the standard mate 50 pro?

Olympus Oms, 06 Sep 2022America is only a small part of the world! So huawei could ... moreIf they do it america wl do nobody in the worl will buy their phone ,u cant brake rules

It's hilarious that even Huawei somehow managed to acquire the 4G-only version of 8+ Gen 1 and yet there is one unsanctioned company that picked the regular 8 Gen 1 and put it in their latest flagship which caused it to throttle hard. Huawei made a good call by avoiding the oven toaster chip :)

I don't welcome the return of RYYB sensors, though. While Huawei mostly fixed the JPEG colour rendition on Mate 40 Pro, it is still a nightmare to colour-correct RAW files from these sensors as shadows suffer from a strong green tint. It's already proven that RGBW sensors are simply superior in every single way.

The 6-blade variable aperture is definitely interesting - unlike Galaxy S10 or Xperia Pro-I, Huawei's solution seems to be capable of **smoothly** changing the aperture size between F1.4 and F4.0 instead of having only two fixed settings, which I believe is the first in the smartphone industry. A periscope telephoto lens with a dedicated macro mode is also very unique and something other manufacturers should start adopting as well.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed. Now, only if Xiaomi or BBK could implement similar camera techs on their phones and sell them in my country..

                            how to

America is only a small part of the world! So huawei could easily put 5g in the global versions, and only 4g in the American version.! Nsa spies on every single part of technology we have, so why even care about China?

                                Ugly ahh phone💀
