first and foremost the new model is good yet the built must improve specially the flash, observe that the camera uses LED flash and the flash produses poor light.

Shino03, 28 Jul 2008I have some news!!! I think its a down for some samsung fan... moresounds great. Now there will be a much better comparison since no two are alike. Does it mean they'll going to use the same camera on SE CO905CSi which is CCD?

I have some news!!! I think its a down for some samsung fans...
Well, rumours spread that the sony ericsson C905 uses samsung's sensor and that really makes all of us thinks that samsung will definitely have a better camera but a little up-date with regards to C905:

1.) The Sensor used is a Sony CCD Sensor and not Samsung ... !!! (Damn Glad for that).
2.) Release date brought forward, it will now be end August, begining Sep as Samsung don't get too much of the cake.

Well it seems they were using the Samsung module just until the Sony one was ready - which makes sense.
I read that at esato!!! So don't tell me that I'm only making non
      sense stories...

And i think in due time SE will going to implement Symbian s60 OS, too. That would differ on how they would layout the UI which how samsung have done. And this act doesn't mean nokia has a stake. They just want to have a good "fight" with other OS mainly Windows Mobile. And believe me when that time comes you'll be reading a lot of things such as "copycat" from you-know-who.

Next is SAMSUNG, 28 Jul 2008Just tell me when i said Nokia alone own Symbian Nokia own'... moreSamsung has a share in Symbian for a very long time already.
S60 no doubt holds the biggest share in mobile operating system.

In which way Samsung SHOULD NOT? distribute phones with S60 platform? Samsung already owns many technologies including camera processors which their competitor buys from them (this is a fact and trade secret some would know and can vouch for).

SonyE decides to customize their own Symbian into UIQ. Thats their choice.

S60 holds thousands of applications worldwide, already made available for years. What reasons Samsung should not provide a super high-tech good quality build and nice design phone, with a powerful and flexbile mobile OS? If you can answer me why Apple allowed Windows XP to be installed into their Mac machines .. then i can tell you why Samsung sells their wonderful device with S60.

It's also the same question why mobile phone manufacturers started producing WindowsMobile devices as well as PDA manufacturers putting in telecommunications chips in their devices.

** Btw, if you noticed i didn't even quote anyone (and definitely note you M@T2). It was a declaration of facts for everyone else who has posted doubts and assumptions in the long list of comments :) No criticism or offence has been intended by this post.

Ecnerwal, 28 Jul 2008Think it's better to conclude a few things. Some of you who... moreJust tell me when i said Nokia alone own Symbian Nokia own's only 49% of share the other Companies who own Symbian are ERICSSON, FUJITSU,SIEMENS, SAMSUNG, MOTOROLA and Now SONYERICSSON with help of ERICSSON by the way NOKIA been major share holder o forget just tell me why SAMSUNG Recently started putting SYMBIAN in there device when it was present 8 to 10 years ago NOKIA 7650 was among the first SYMBIAN DEVICE with camera and colour display and what i have said is SYMBIAN S60v3 used in SAMSUNG i550, i420, i8510 etc is licensed under Nokia corporation (thats written on Samsung mobile itself i.e i550) Symbian UIQ is own by ERICSSON, Motorola corp Thats why we don't see Nokia using UIQ and SE, moto using SYMBIAN 9.2 S60v3 feature pack 1 or 2.

Think it's better to conclude a few things. Some of you who are full time mobile testers / reviewers would know the best of some things.

                                1. NOKIA DOES NOT OWN Symbian alone.

                                2. S60 is currently amongst the leading smartphone platforms in the world. It is developed primarily by Nokia and licensed by them to other manufacturers including Lenovo, LG Electronics, Panasonic and Samsung.
*** Quote from Wikipedia. Please go read before flaming and assuming stuffs.

                                3. Samsung is at the moment No.2 mobile phone manufacturer in the world next to Nokia No.1. It is still a fact. Numbers may change here and here and Samsung is No.1 in some countries, e.g. France and some European countries. Go check your facts before flaming again.

                                4. Lets face the facts, everyone wants to be No.1 and not stay No.2 or 3 forever. Whether INNOV8 is a weapon or not, lets leave it to global sales of it to decide. It's definitely not an iPhone thats for sure.

                                5. Whether the quality of the phone matters more or powerful features of the phones matters more, each individual buyers decision differs.

If we base it off price range,
                                High end :-
Samsung U900, G400, F480, i780, G810 (lil more plasticky specially camera cover), and a few more are all very solid phones with almost no room for you to press, squeeze or warp.
Nokia N95, N95 Black, N76, E90, 8800, are all pretty solid with good quality build not loosing to Samsung at all.

Whereelse in Mid end segment :-
Samsung U700, U600 (based on current price range), L870, U800, Steel and a few more models are solid with good quality build as well.
Nokia 5310, 5610, 6500 Slide/Classic, E61, E66, E51, all are equally well justified in their build and quality.

** Note all the models mentioned above i've personally handled and tested and reviewed before making any comments. Feel free to add-on or comment **

Other than price and solidness, other deciding factor would be their user interface, friendliness of use and durability which differs from buyers to buyers, countries to countries.

Lets not let this variance be a dogfight discussion but to stay neutral on this.

If there is competition prices fall ,technology evolves faster etc. It`s a war between companies and we get to enjoy lower prices and better products .By the way the camera module found in C905 is made by Samsung but I guess you all that by now .So as far as camera performance goes it will be a matter of software tweaking as a final deciding factor (i am leaving optics out of the discussion you all know why).

the INNOV8 is not slow, the move to launch is a slow and swiftly calibrated move on the part of Samsung to unseat Nokia.

This is going to be interesting! what do you think! The benefiters will be us, the consumers! Let the war begin!
