Simply in black (+512 Ram) only and sold with the unnecessary accessory. I would have bought if Xperia Play 2. On the other hand, why does it not go with the Pro-I? Now, I will wait for the news for the Pro-I II, around November. I'm series 1 but can upgrade to series pro only if bigger screen or even better sound.

Xperia 1 IV Gaming ed. comes bundeled with Stream cooler, for 1200$, at least per reports.

        So yah, apples to apples.
Rog a bit stronger for gaming due to additional buttons and extra battery, Xperia stronger for multimedia.

It just surprised me that Rog throttles more despite newer Gen+ chip inside.

Pro because 2 gb more ram than regular 6.

But now one can buy Xperia 1 IV for as low as 900$, and buy the Xperia Stream cooler for 160.
That would equal to 1060$ for a premium tier flag device/ gaming device combo.

I believe thats a good bargain for serious players, wanting a serious award winning multimedia flagship device also, all in one.

Funny how Xperias 8gen throttles less than that 8+gen1 Gaming phone, maintaining higher 63% at 50 C and remaining in orange, while Rogs 8+gen maintains about 60% at 50 C and going into red...
Yet, rev wording about throttling is so different on those two:
                              Xperia:
"The good news is that the Xperia 1 IV never gets uncomfortably hot. And that is because it throttles heavily.
The Xperia 1 IV managed to keep 63% of its maximum CPU performance when running at peak processor performance for an hour. The phone throttled in the first 5 minutes down to about 65% and kept this limitation until the end of the 1 hour test."

                              Rog6:
"Even with its raw performance severely cut down, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has more than plenty left to drive an incredibly smooth UI experience and chew through everyday tasks. Plus, there are no sudden jarring drops in the chart, and the loss in performance is clearly intentional and deliberate rather than the result of thermal throttling"

What about its price and this facts do you find more efficient?
