These gu... moreMost smartphones can do 4K/30 or better, which by the way isn't ideal if you're capturing anything in motion. It just looks choppy, and people get nauseated or irritated by it. Anything below 60FPS in an action cam is pointless and counter-purpose. They only support it because they can, and it keeps file sizes down for folk with less storage.

Hot batteries, hot internals, shortened longevity, etc. Not what it's meant for. You also don't need a 5.3K sensor for a webcam, a good ol' Logitech C922 Pro would do the trick just fine. Almost equally as silly as using a DSLR camera as a webcam, although nothing can top that.

            I use the Session 5 all the time to record family trips. I might take 30-50, 10-20 second long videos and stitch them together using Quik to make a longer video. Superview always captures everything in front of me. This is great for dads (and moms).

              no screen? well it might be perfect for a replacement for conventional computer webcams. which they look horrible depending on how much light they need

                I once had a GoPro without a screen.
                What I can say is that is you’re going to get one of these, pay up for the model with the screen. You’re going to regret it if you don’t, believe me. The screen helps so much

                  Ok, so we wait Gopro Nano to match Hero5 session.
                  These guys din't get it ... there are many people that want as small and light camera as possible, with good 4k30 with nice stabilization and that is all. The Session5 display to change settings is also supper handy to switch from bike mode SuperView to Narrow when car recording. With the current technology, they can do even smaller camera than session! I have the Session5 from nearly 5 yrs and will continue to use it. And later if gopro hasn't brought us a small camera, I will switch the brand.
