Karl Hanke, 15 Sep 2022Not having 4K video recording capability and using Scamsung... moreG99 also don't support 4K recording. 4 gen 1 is for low end devices. No 4k recording is normal. G9x series was supposed to battle with 6xx and 7xx series yet it never support 4k recording from G90T to G99.
Also Samsung fabrication process is only bad on high end chip. Snapdragon 625 is good example. The chip was built on 14nm Samsung. but till this day is still the most efficient chip that qualcoim ever released. that chip can easily get 8+ hours of SoT with only 4000mAh battery. 732G is another example. Yes it got hot when gaming, but it rarely throttling and pretty good on battery life.

Mediatek's G99 is the direct competitor of Napdragon 4 Gen 1 and it is fabbed using TSMC's superior Node.

People here need to realize that snapdragon is rebranding and recategorizing their portfolio. 4 series isn't entry level like it was 5 years ago. Even 480+ wasn't. They are on par with other low midrange chips. Yes gpu performance is not good but if they make them good in 200$ phones then what's the point in buying more expensive phone? So look it really like fast reliable processors that do some light gaming. That's better than slow gpu AND cpu like it was back in 2017 and before that

Also phones are full of stuff nobody ever use or even know there phone have.

-sd 660, 665, 662 and 680 these were mid to low end, they use big core but older ones like cortex A73
-sd 670, 675, 690, 695 these were proper midrange they use close to best core available at that time cortex A77, A78 etc.
So sd 680 is more of successor to 625, and sd 695 is successor to sd 650, 652 etc.

Do you think that sd 695 could be recognized as the sd 625 successor? Or even better in many ways? Or there's no sd 625 successors anymore for the budget midrangers?
I lost track of which is which from sd 6 series sometimes cuz it seems like sd 700 series or even dimensity got the highlights more often than them. Thank you.

What I don't understand is why companies don't follow how Sony Xperias handle their selfie cameras by putting it in the bezel so that we can have 100% useable screen. Stupid notches, under screen cameras and pop-up cameras useless and more expensive but underperforming in terms of camera quality.
