Weekly poll results: the iPhone 14 Pro duo has its fans, the vanilla pair gets the cold shoulder

18 September 2022
The iPhone 14 and the new iPhone 14 Plus failed to excite potential buyers due to a perceived lack of updates. The Pro and Pro Max fared better (but price is an issue).

I am curious about 2 thing...why does all android fan boys come and hate when a new apple device is on the market...and why do they inspect it so much....I mean I use an iPhone I look at android phones they are nice, even better in some things than apple...Yet android fans come and hate and judge, does not do this does not have that etc...while on new android phones I rarely saw apple fanboys comments...This is one the other is how come if apple remove x thing from the box all others from android do the same?I mean apple might be a greedy company but if all others android phone makers or most of them fallow, apple does not make them greedy?Or is it that apple inovate in greed more than android and they just fallow?
For me both android and apple phones atm are very good, some do some things better others do other things better...No hate no love just phones...If you want more freedom go for android want more safty go apple...And no I dont mean custom roms and things like that since 95% of the users dont use custom rom

As usual Pro series is a favorable story.

Without AOD tho, it would be like my Android phone which I consider already so good, but with AOD those results do look fantastic. As an Android user, that's one thing I always like on iPhones, the battery draw on standby. That was something only seen on of my previous phones, a huawei. The battery was amazing on that phone

Again have you ever seen website which different Pages looks different? No they always have same key design elements so you feel like you are in same page when you browsing certain website. For example when you navigate gsmarena page all the Pages follow same design language and same colour world. So it feels familiar and calm. i'm pretty sure you would negativily notice if for example this comment section would look completely different than the front page. It's exact same thing with themes. They can only change certain things and not everything and that is the problem. Themes would be so cool if they actually could just change every single app Ui 3rd apps included and all the widgets and so on to compliment that theme you just chose. But well it doesn't work like that.

I don't care how much or less it takes in daily life, no matter how much it takes it's less than what Android phones takes and that was the point.

Yet again though Fandroids loves to downplay this, even after admitting iPhones AOD is BRIGHTER and utilises the WHOLE SCREEN unlike any on Androids. it’s really just whinging and complaining for the sake of it.

Android and their users froth over half baked implementations and love screaming how they had features first even if Android fails to improve or evolve said features LMFAO. Energy efficient AOD and stackable smart widgets are just prime examples of Apples customer experience centric approach.

-Trix-, 19 Sep 2022Android user "reality" "The same with AOD... moreIn which parallel Universe, lol? All reviews I saw on YouTube about AOD on iPhone 14 Pro's, people said that they are disabling this feature. Does not matter if the person is pro Apple or pro Android.
Main reason for this is that the display does not go completely off when using this feature. And basically in dark areas the AOD makes the display too bright.
And second reason is that the battery is much worse when AOD is on, even worse than on 1 year old battery of iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max.

4% per night. Lol. Well, of course, at night when you are not using your phone, and AOD is not consuming anything. Compare it during the day or during a period of 24h and then we talk.
If you are comparing things, compare apples with apples (no pun intended). Not just what you like to hear.

"The same with AOD, in my opinion is much worse on iPhones (in dark areas is useless, because it lights the whole display). Not to mention much more battery consumption, because the way is implemented."

                                Actual reality 😁

"Even when dimmed, iPhone 14 Pro’s display remains brighter than the competition in always-on mode. Despite the brightness, and colorful display, iPhone 14 Pro only loses 4% battery overnight. This is in contrast to Android smartphones which lose 1% battery per hour in always-on mode."

Guess... moreIt's very smooth and effortless because you don't need to reach certain part from the screen to hit back button, because gesture works from any part of the left side of the screen, so it comes very naturally and it becomes like second nature. IOS also have forward gesture which works from right side ot the screen.

I don&... moreYour opinion on Apples implementation of AOD is heavily influenced by your poor experience with Android. Apple did not take this long to implement AOD if they don’t think the hardware and software meets theirs and customer’s requirements. They’ve already proven that their implementation of 120hz refresh rate do not impact their battery. Androids excuse for constantly losing battery battle from iPhone 11 & 12 was “120hz consumes more battery” vs 60hz…lol then came the 13 pro max, Apple showed how it’s meant to be done. While I don’t care for AOD, I’m confident that Apple will once again show how their implementation despite simply “dimming” the screen is far more energy efficient than any Androids implementation.
