The iPhone 14 and the new iPhone 14 Plus failed to excite potential buyers due to a perceived lack of updates. The Pro and Pro Max fared better (but price is an issue).

Giving lots of options to customise can ruin that refinement and elegance that apple tries to maintain on their products. I do get the whole idea behind ios. Tbh it does look good and very colourful and easy to operate. But I just get used to it, the navigation and especially the back button placement on iOS. It's weird for me. That thing always keeps me from switching to iOS, back button position

      But like i said i know you don't understand this, because you've never experienced it or understand the difference. I've done graphics designing like 15 years And i know very well why so many likes the iOS experience.

          In this quest to be different, many times Apple does worse things than better things.

          Take the notch for example (just because they wanted Face ID, not fingerprint readers like Android phones). And didn't want to use hole punch cutouts, because they didn't want the iPhone to look like an Android phone.
          The same with AOD, in my opinion is much worse on iPhones (in dark areas is useless, because it lights the whole display). Not to mention much more battery consumption, because the way is implemented.
          Another poor example is App library. Much worse and too complex than App drawer simplicity in Android.
          And don't even get me started on that "Dynamic island" thing. Is just some software implementation they did, to make people believe is not a notch anymore. In reality, is even worse than the notch and it takes even more space from the display. I just hope they will not make all the future iPhones like this.
          Yeah, some things I like more in iPhones. For example the widgets are clearer and more fun. That is why, even some Android manufacturers (Xiaomi one of them), have copied the Apple widgets style. But even in this case, some Android phones have themes (Samsung or Xiaomi for example), which can customize 100% your phone.

Why would one want to buy one now just because it's cheaper? There is bunch of cheaper things and people still don't want them. Like, getting cancer is free yet no one wants it...

            People simply buy iPhones because of unique characteristics iOS has. For better or worse. Me included. Going back to Android's trainwreck software support will be the toughest thing to do now that I've been using amazing software support on iPhone for last 4 years. And it's a huge part of experience. In the end I don't care if specs on paper are worse, I'd still take a 60Hz vanilla iPhone in a heartbeat if I had to pick an iPhone this moment, just for how smooth and well maintained iOS is the entire time.

              I can see the problem with the iPhone 14 Plus: You can get an LG V60 with its detachable Dual Screen case for half the price. The V60 may have a slightly larger 6.8" 20.5:9 screen, but it's still 60Hz like the 14 Plus. Even when the V60 was brand new in 2020, you can buy the phone without the Dual Screen case with the same 128GB internal storage for $799, which is $100 less than that iPhone. Now, you can get a new one with the Dual Screen case bundled together for not more than $400 and you still get a headphone jack with the best smartphone audio experience EVER thanks to the built-in Quad DAC, microSD card support, and 8K HDR10+ video recording capability.

It had them sinc... moreI think it’s actually very comical how these Fandroids think all iPhone users are jumping for joy whenever an Android feature makes it to iOS. I just received my iPhone 14 pro max and I turned off AOD, I don’t care for it myself. I upgraded from iPhone 12 Pro Max and the difference between it and the “pro motion” of iPhone 14 pro max, I actually find very negligible and that’s because iOS has a buttery smooth animation and transition effects. It’s been like that for over a decade. Apples evolution of the widgets however was amazing to the point that Samsung copied Smart Stacks. When Apple introduces USB-C I will not be surprised if they actually implement thunderbolt 4 or perhaps go wireless and introduce a much faster version of Airdrop, Androids primary purpose for usb c is really charging with a small minority utilising it for data transfer most likely owners of flagships not so much the vast majority of Android users.

                    Anonymous, 19 Sep 2022You people said the same about wireless charging, OLED disp... moreAnd it still is. 5 camera budget phones that have normal main and the rest are just useless token cameras,108Mpix main cams that make terrible photos with mega lag in almost any condition because processing is just garbage, with 120Hz refresh that you can only jerk to in menus because chipset is too slow to push that kind of frames anywhere but in menus anyway, the refresh is a locked one most of the time and only drops in some apps like Youtube is also so wonderful. And even for same priced phones, there is so many flagship Androids that have problems with many things and it's often because of the lack of API's. Even if they run latest Android OS, most other users don't and thus, most apps don't use latest API's. And we're back to Apple's pushing of latest OS versions and supporting phones for many years. I can't believe how people just harp about hardware specs and not just ignore API's, they don't even know what they are meant for and why they matter. It's why high refresh rate is still wonky in most apps even though it has been around for years on Androids. And there is bunch of other things that still don't work as they should.

Themes makes everything just big mess. Apple wants the experience to feel same no matter what you do with your phone or any app you open, they have the same feel. It's big part why iPhone is so popular it makes that polished experience. Themes are nice idea, but in reality they just don't work because they can't change everything and then the experience feels disconnected and cluttered.

                        I know Android users doesn't understand this because they've actually never experienced this, Android always been big mess.

                        I mean just look the widgets? They are all over the place and all look different and just doesn't quite fit to the OS Ui, when with iOS every widget look like Apple designed them and they with perfectly to Ui and looks really polished.

                          It's crazy how fast that feature works! I as old graphic designer did that stuff in earlier years and it took long time to cut the subject from background smoothly and now it happens in second, that's just crazy what AI can do.
