25 September 2022
The ROG Phone 6D Ultimate has a unique motorized port that improves (external) active cooling while keeping the phone fairly water tight (IPX4).

Now for me, I use emulators quite a bit and there's no brainer that snapdragon gets best performance. Also, I've noticed some apps have like one to two stars in reviews. E.g. Final fantasy IX. I never understood why as it always works for me. Wait, is that because I've always used a snapdragon based device? Yep, and that's why I can't just go to another cpu unless if I'm only playing the latest titles that have come out last two years or so.

So yes. Very happy with my rog 6 snapdragon version.

Peace out.

My next primary phone will be Asus Rog, if they provide better size and weigh and better cameras.

Kangal, 25 Sep 2022While MediaTek's latest chipsets have been great, they... morewhat you mean mediatek not secure when they not released kernel source code unlike qualcom?

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2022Snapdragon anyday for the battery efficiencyMediatek is doing an very good job in some area specifically gaming. As for as efficiency is concerned all ARM chip do good. Snapdragon has better app comparability, which again is similar for all ARM.

While the 6D has slightly worse standby battery life, it has much better battery life than the 6 pro when consuming media. 6D gets my pick. Plus, I expect game support for the Dimensity to improve with time as more devs see the chips as worth optimizing for.

No. It asks if I am stupid enough to pay over 1100£ when I have a lot other better options for a lot less money.

They're more expensive than I thought, I hope redmagic makes a dimensity gaming phone too, they always undercut Asus in price.

Dimensity 9000 plus is better than sd 8 plus gen 1

                  Dimensity version easily

                  Just because of competition

Finally mediatek at least have one foot in the door regarding flagship SOC space

More competition equals higher quality products for consumers

No we can get out of the dark ages of Qualcomm monopoly who knows how better flagship chipsets could have been by now if we had healthy competition all these years before

To be more specific, exact and to the said question litterary any phone with at least 6GB ram and good 6XX, 7XX and 8XX or above CPU could be used as a gaming phone.
Extra buttons more sensitive screen and few more gaming gfeatures are nice add on but for most users are just a gimmick not worth to have.

                      Those prices are insane...

While MediaTek's latest chipsets have been great, they still suffer in the software department. They're not as optimised, not as secure, and don't have great software update plans. So the QC 8g1+ is the better option overall. It has a slightly faster performance at slightly lower power use, as a bonus. And when you're this far up the price bracket, it's silly to "cheap out" and settle for the second best/MediaTek option.

...with that all said, I don't think these are great phones!
Sure they have a certain "1337" aesthetic to them, but they're too wide, too long, too heavy, lack a lot of Gaming Features, and have mediocre camera performance. So for most consumers it's not a great product. For certain people, they can appreciate this niche. But you're much better off getting the Samsung A52-S or even the ASUS ZenFone 9 instead.

Snapdragon anyday for the battery efficiency

The CPU throttle test gives lower performance figures compared with GT2 master (8+) without fan.

                            But why?
