Samsung is rolling out a small update for the Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+

This trio launched in the distant 2015, over 7 years ago. In related news, the more recent Galaxy A40 is getting a security patch.

Jesus Christ I remember when I was like in middle school and saw some kid who had rich parents using this phone, it looked like something out of the future, and now it feels like it belongs in museum......

Still a beautiful device tho.

    this is a specific exynos cpu related patch only,manufacturer doesnt have obligation to reveal what it is for security reasons

        Anonymous, 21 Sep 2022You must be joking that you clearly don't know the his... moreSpot on man, I had galaxy alpha with 20nm exynos instead of 28nm sd 801, despite being so thin and so powerful, it's battery temps never got past 45 degrees (and battery still could get past a day), now I hear people complaining about exynos s22 Idle-ing at 45 degrees! Then I had the s8 which I still use it, exynos version, it doesn't overheat, and battery still better than SD counterpart. Exynos started to be trash since s20, even s10 exynos was at least on par or like few percents lower than SD counterpart.

I've had a Meizu Pro 5 with Exynos 7420, that phone was really flying. And with a 3050 mAh and 5.7 Amoled screen it got me easily through a day and then some.

Back then exynos was had better cpu, audio, and efficiency. And root capabilities. Even had better gpu sometimes too.
                  Especially during the s6 when samsung made the first move to 14nm while the snapdragon 810 was still at a larger 20nm.

                  And not only that but samsung had been working on quad and octa core for a while Qualcomm just tried to dive right in it. And it was a mess. It was one of the worst plaugued chips with severe overheating and throttling.

                      Back when exynos was THE best, back when screen wasn't mutilated with notches,punch holes, etc. Back when a 2500 battery could get you a day at 1440p res, back when NOT having micro sd was so backlashed YET it had 128gb version, 128gb was like how's 1Tb now!!!
