Why do they releasing these as hd8, cant they give it a new name or something. How is anyone suppose to know its a new version ...

As I stated in my past comments Amazon Fire tablets are the entry-level ones. If you're looking to start using tablets without draining your wallet the new HD 8 Plus is not a bad deal. At least the processor is a bit better and (finally!) has a better camera. Try to get the 64mb version if possible. I agree with most of the commenters here: Amazon should drop its smallest 7 inch tablet as the price difference between it and its 8 inch one is minimal. My Fire 7 is now approaching 6 years old and is showing its age, often running slow with a few apos occasionally not working properly.

Super Android 22, 23 Sep 2022How can they call the tablets "HD" when the resol... moreThey don't use the "HD" moniker for the Fire 7, which is the only one that has a 1024 x 600 display. The HD 8 has a 1280 x 800 display (supporting 720p) while the HD 10 has a 1920 x 1280 display (supporting 1080p).

How can they call the tablets "HD" when the resolution is 1024x600 which is below 1280x720. Dunno why you wouldn't just get the Echo Show instead, can play YouTube videos and play music plus it's a constant assistant so more useful than the "FIREWSVGA" tablet. (the echos have higher screen resolution too and have tracking so literally makes these tablets pointless)

Amazon music is one of the worst music streaming apps there, always buggy. Its really unbelievable that a company worth half trillion so incompetent.

I've allways thought that Amazon Fire tablets were overpriced, you don't seem to get much and they're subsidised by adverts built in. I was curious to see what this new updated processor was, but doesn't seem to be anything special.
Anyone else? Or are these still just cheap, although slightly more premium tablets to promote their store?

What terrible tablets. Just buy a cheap knock off tablet, probably have a better SoC in than what amazon have been supplying in their tablets for years. Probably have a better screen than these too, it's like looking at devices from 2015 with the specs and bezel sizes

Amazon usually don't release the specs of soc they're using in their tablet.
But my guess, it's probably be mediatek or unisoc chips.

Amazon have a crowded small tablet arena with 7 and 8 inch model and have no presence in large tablet space.
Amazon should really ditch 7 inch model and add 12 inch model.

Mmmma, 21 Sep 2022Why there isn't 7 inch high-end android tablet No point. Most phones are pretty close to that size now anyway. The trend is now that tablets are going to have to get bigger to differentiate themselves from the smartphones of today. The mi pad 5 is 11 inches. The Samsung Galaxy S8 ultra is 14 inches and the Samsung Galaxy S8 plus is 12.4 and even the Samsung Galaxy S8 tab standard is 11 inches. There's no market for 7 or 8 inch tablets anymore.
