mayga1, 24 Sep 2022You posted this from your iPhone. Outside of that, this was... moreNo, while this argument is kinda common around the iPhone, the situations are different: iPhones are all quite alike, and either you accept the whole iPhone/iOS/Apple package, or you you have to look at something else entirely.
Now the XCover6 Pro on the other hand is a fairly unique phone in the Android sphere, but it is indeed Android. So if anyone is looking for an Android phone and they dislike the X6P because of the removable battery & card slot & headphone jack, they do have the other 99% of the Android market to choose from.

kek, 23 Sep 2022I can tell you IP68 rating is not a lie. I have tried it on... moreIP-ratings are certainly meaningful, but I am very critical of using them to advertise devices to consumers. They are based on very narrow lab conditions that are only fully described in a proprietary €400-document, making it very hard for Joe Average to estimate whether his real-world usage is safe. They are also not very intuitive, because numerically higher levels are not always better than lower levels: levels 5 and 6 deal with water jets, 7 and 8 with immersion - a device with level 8 immersion protection is not automatically protected against level 5 jets. (E.g. a level 8 device might not be sufficiently protected to clean it under a strong faucet.)
I think IP-ratings have their place in engineering regulations, e.g. for approval of a building all outside power sockets must be IP44 (or whatever) - that way there is a standard and builders know what to buy, they do not have to work out how strong rain fall is and whatnot. But for personal devices that are used basically everywhere, there should be standards that are easy to understand and to apply in any situation, and IP-ratings cannot do that.

ishreal, 23 Sep 2022Sounds like you've never worked in retail/customer ser... moreAs a Samsung DeX user, I so can agree with you. Even for a normal public consumer like me, DeX really proves to be useful when I don't bring my Windows PC around. I just connect it to the TV in any hotel room, and voila - I have a PC right there. That kind of functionality is why I recently bought a Huawei Mate 20 and an LG V50 alongside the LG Wing 5G because of EMUI Desktop and Screen+ Desktop Mode respectively. All that is left is to have a Motorola smartphone with wired Ready For capability.

Long time ago my huawei phone fall into a toilet for like 3 seconds and it was good as dead. They told me they can fix it but price was equal to a new phone.
Another example i had customer in my shop with a Sony phone who did just few photos in the rubber pool for his small childrens and phone died.
So once again call your self a lucker.

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2022i really can't understand why rugged phones and tablet... moreAt least the chipset and RAM are respectable this time. It's almost everything I want in a phone. I do wish there was an 8GB option though.

kek, 23 Sep 2022I can tell you IP68 rating is not a lie. I have tried it on... moreMan IPXX rating will be fine as long as company i mean manufacturer includes water damage into the warranty if not the its just gimmick useless gimmick as always.
Since noone gives you a water damage warranty I.E. free repair when you drown your phone or tablet is nothing but costly gimmick where any waterproof case does a lot more job for much less.
Even your LG phone havent included water damage resistance into the warranty so you can call i a pure luck othervise your phone could die since the whole IPXX rating testing is made in certain conditions which is 100% clean water and the device is standing still in a water tank.
Get it into sea or swim with it and you will have maybe 10-30 seconds until it dies and your IPXX rating will be good for nothing.
Costly gimmicks cant be trusted as long as noone gives you warranty on that and as long as there exist a lot cheaper options such as waterproof case.
Same goes for example for GG Victus where any good book case or a panzer glass or shapphire glass screen protector does a lot better job for much less money,
End of simple story.

AnonD-731363, 23 Sep 2022$649 for a tablet with removable battery, IP68, MIL-STD-810... moreI can tell you IP68 rating is not a lie. I have tried it on a LG G7 and it works as expected.
Just dont be retarded and market it the way Samsung Australia did, where they implied it would also work on salty water.

AnonD-731363, 23 Sep 2022$649 for a tablet with removable battery, IP68, MIL-STD-810... moreSounds like you've never worked in retail/customer service or sales. DeX and Samsung’s Knox Platform for POS are far from bloatware or gimmicks. Businesses need both of those, especially for managers who use tablets for sales but also need to work around spreadsheets/sending emails so DeX comes in handy.

YUKI93, 23 Sep 2022$649 for a tablet with removable battery, IP68, MIL-STD-810... more$649 for a tablet with removable battery, IP68, MIL-STD-810H, and Samsung DeX support? Count me in! That's way cheaper than the cheapest Tab S8.
Man there are many much more powerfull tablets for that price outside and if i buy a rugged case i still get a cheaper and a lot better device which can sustain everytrhing.
And Samsung DEX support like with everything from Samsung is nothing just a useless bloatware for most people as usualy and as always.
Same goes for that rugged phone by Samsung.
The IP XX rating is nothing just a costly gimmick proven by australian courts which fined samsung by 14 milions for releasingfake water resistance ads about their devices.
Rest is Okay bbut any protective case and screen protector will do its job better and are way cheaper to replace than expensive repair.
Rest is just bloatware and gimmick from Samsung.
Whether you accept it or not i really dont care because truth been said.
