Next phone will be a mate 50 pro or p50 Pro.

Some people use Samsung cause they have used samsung for 20 plus years. Others use Sony and for the same reason a lot still use Nokia too and buy new ones.
People stick to one brand cause they are use to the OS it is running and dont need to learn new skin all the time they buy new one if they go with the specs alone.
The people who go with specs alone are really low number
I have had only 2 phones with Android. First one was Samsung Galaxy Gio and then i went on Nokia Lumia 520 and after that on Lumia 830. And after that to today i have Redmi note 5 Ai dual cam. My next phone will probably be also from Xiaomi or it depends who ever come out first with more compact size phone in budget price range up to 250 euro. I be happy already if the phone be like 150mm tall as that be already 8-9mm shorter from the phone i have now

Coz you know, Android users hardly ever stick with one brand, because some other is cheaper by 70 cents or has more megapixels... Then again I know why they spam market with rehashed same phones under different names POCO/Redmi/Xiaomi. So clueless people think they are "making a choice" while picking products from exact same company. I guess there is enough clueless people out there for almost all Chinese brands doing this...

That will mean to completely change their business model. Which, I don't think they will.
As long as people will still buy their phones, they will continue on this path.
I know a lot of people that are ok with this. They buy 300EUR phones with very nice specs (but with bad software, cameras, etc.), they keep them for 6-12 months, after that sell them for 150EUR and buy the next Chinese phone released.
I had some random Chinese phones in the past and never had one for more than 3-6 months. So, I kind of understand why Xiaomi is maintaining this type of business approach.

All they need to do is stop spamming 500 phones a year, stop constantly rehashing same devices between their 3 main brands (Xiaiomi, Redmi and Poco), improve software support and make software support commitment that isn't arbitrary rollercoaster of idiocy and it would be great.

Decent but hopefully the pro model gets at least an 8mp telephoto camera.
