LG made good phones indeed, but they're dead now, hardly any plan to resurrection a division. They either fight hard to keep it running or shut it down. See Sony with Vaio. Same story, bought by other manufacturers. Nokia? Sadly HMD isn't Nokia and they never will be.

Heck, never mind foldable, Sony doesn't even bother to come back to the Android tablet market. If anything, they'll try to bring more Alpha camera features to their flagship smartphones.
As for Apple, there are indeed numerous rumours about them making a foldable iPhone, but no one knows if Apple is committed to it.

It does show that it's not that difficult to put it back. The only reason they don't want to do it is that they want people to buy their wireless earbuds, simple as that. It's the same story as microSD card support as they don't put it because they want people to buy their cloud storage offering. That's the obvious cash-grab reality we are living in right now in 2022. As one of my favourite indie tech reviewers put it, "Real techies vote with their wallet, not with the brand."

I still do. I don't like to keep everything on the phone's internal storage, so having secondary storage like a microSD card is totally useful. Also, the microSD card is still relevant in 2022 and beyond and it always will stay that way, especially with lots and lots of phones that can do 8K video recording.

The plastic screen is very poor and the hinge also has many problems. Maybe you should read the long term reviews of another website than this one. The foldable ones will die out faster than the headphone jack.

The foldables are a waste of money, only the Z Flip3 and Razr 5G are worse than this useless junk. The folding revolution is worse than Apple's revolutionary ideas.

Flip 4 here and never going to buy a non-foldable phone ever again, because once you Flip you can't get used to having a massive slab phone in your pocket ever again. The same most likely goes for Galaxy Fold-type phones vs mini tablets. The non-foldable age is coming to an end because it is impractical and outdated.

TrinI, 02 Oct 2022Yea similar to how pop-up selfie cameras were a trend a few... moreI tend to agree...if this foldable doesnt become a trending phone, in 2-3 years when people will get used to/bored, a lot of people will come to the "cheaper" normal phones and probably no one will pay over 1000 just to use the phone 90% of the time like a normal smartphone
