By having longer software support, even after buying a new phone after 2 years, the buyer of old Samsung phone still get latest features/experiences for the next 4 years! Which means it would be more valuable compared to other random phones with ended software support.
Even if we make our old phone as secondary phone, it would be as secure as the new phone for the next 4 years.

Xperia 5 IV is 10mm taller dan 0.6 mm thicker than S22 and maybe S23 if samsung not change their flagship phone dimensions. Zenfone 9 also 1.5 mm thicker than samsung flagship.

Samsung, iPhone all washed out from the compact race. So Zenfone wins here, i love Zenfone.
While Samsung with each update brining no upgrades rather few improvements. I think flagships have been saturated.
What's next?
Satellite texting, sim free calling, 6G, 300MP cameras, 10000 mah battery, sapphire glass screen, steel or platinum sides, victus++++ back glass, hologram support, 10D games support, 5000 nits brightness ?
Comeon even with all these specs mobiles are boring today. They are like reaching its end.

Just 3900mAh in 2022? And scamsung said they removed headphone jack and microSD card to make space for battery.
On top of that inefficient exynos chip.

From Google to Apple, now Samsung, are focusing how to maximize the potential with given specs. Result? Better AI image processing, better AI assistance (Google Assistant, Bixby), better files searching and features predicting, better functionality while offline, better ram management (now the number of RAM becomes stagnant), etc.

Apparently the Exynos 2300 might not be ready in time for the S23 to launch and I think they would want to uphold their agreement with Qualcomm. The foldable are performing much better with the 8+ gen 1 so the 8 gen 2 in the S23 will be buttery smooth.
