I’m wondering to change my mobile device, currently using iPhone 11, Google quotes me £305 trade in for Pixel 7 and earbuds, do you think its worth moving to Android? I’m fed up with Apple old design and lack of innovations.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2022can pixel connect via usb typ c cable to monitor or tv? Lik... moreYes it can, but it won’t have a special ‘desktop mode’ like Samsung Dex, it will just mirror what is on the display.

Also it’s not a cable connection but if you have wifi and a pc you can use windows phone link with almost any android and that way you get your pc and phone screen on the same display and easily transfer files between them.

When you say Pixel phone the only good that comes to mind is the camera experience.

Wait... they upgraded the middle cores by two generations (A76→A78)?
                          That's a pretty big deal.
When Anandtech looked at the first gen Tensor, those middle cores really stuck out as a strange choice. Yeah, they were smaller but otherwise completely inferior to the A78. Also, considering how much work the middle cores do, that ends up being a relatively massive waste of Joules.

I mean, I really love my Pixel 6 and I'll keep him as I don't mind all those little software things because I know what I'm getting from it on other fields and there is so many positive sides.
But yeah, I do understand that some of you can't stand it an more and sure even my self didn't expect so many little bugs when I bought it, even they are not so terrible like I've seen some people talking about here. For example connectivity and battery issues are the most talked about, but for me no issues at all with those two, but fingerprint sensor and few little other things ehh...
Anyways... I highly doubt you can judge their performance looking at just two models side by side. I have no doubts that X5 pro or whataver is called (we don't have that brand here) is a great phone but I bet they didn't have to go with big optimisation like Google did with their first born chip. That X5 has a generic Snapdragon which was and still is a great performing chip but I think very far from what Google had to do with their custom Tensor chip and all the troubles they had to go through with software optimisation.. They are in learning phase that's for sure lol.

According to nanoreview.net first Tensor was a little faster in single-core then 865 but latter was considerably better in multi-core and Tensor's Mali-78 MP20 was much better then Adreno 650 so overall Tensor chip is performing better then 865 phones.
To tell you the truth, I'm watching my wifes S22+ and they are equaly fluid and smooth in every way and I personally don't have any issues with Pixels 6 performance, even we don't play high demanding games, but software.. oh my.. we could talk about Pixel's 6 series software issues for months! lol..
                                Cheers!

PeopleLOL, 07 Oct 2022Isn't 888 announced in December 2020.? But you still c... moreThe tensor 1 was an SD 855/kirin 990 or equivalent in performance (my find X5 has the 888 and its just a smoother, better performing phone than the pixel 6 pro in everyway except camera app/main camera sensor).

The tensor 2 is still using a76 and A55 for their main performance and going from 5nm to 4nm won't make really much of a difference except tiny bit better efficiency which the pixel 6 series is below par anyway (shouldn't be using the X cores unless you're seriously pushing your phone) so it won't come close to the 888 other than benchmarks or pushing the X cores (which again means nothing when the real world performance is on par with a 2018 SoC for 95% of daily usage).

I've had P40 pro while I had a pixel 6 pro so I know exactly how well daily usage performance is (don't need benchmark results from GSM) best thing of tensor 1 was the gpu, I'd say its about the same as my 888 in the find x5 in gaming.

why are people tolerating these huge camera bulges?
I had the Pixel 6 and sent it back because of this.
they dont include it in the depth of the phone and fanboys will just say "get a case",
i dont want to get a slim premium phone then put a stupid thick case on it
