Rumored Motorola Razr 2022 price for Europe is higher than the Galaxy Z Flip4

10 October 2022
The Moto flip phone has more advanced hardware, but it will be tough to justify a higher price than the established competitor.

It has lost all the nostalgic appeal of its predecessor. Shame.

PhoneFreak45, 10 Oct 2022"The Razr 2022 will be €1,200+ in Europe, according to... moreArticle says Razr 256GB is gonna be 1200 euros, while samsung charges 1280 euros for 512GB.

"The Razr 2022 will be €1,200+ in Europe, according to leakster Roland Quandt. That’s pretty steep – the base variant in China (8/128GB) is CNY 6,000 (€865) while the top model (12/512GB) is CNY 7,300 (€1,050). Motorola may skip the lowest tier variant for the west, so this price tag may actually apply to the 8/256GB model (CNY 6,500 or €940 after a direct currency conversion).

For comparison, a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 starts at €1,100 (8/128GB) and tops out at €1,280 (8/512GB). The Huawei P50 Pocket had an MSRP of €1,400-1,600 depending on the country, but that is an older model from last year (and out of stock in Europe, seemingly)."

€1050 for the 12GB/512GB model versus €1280 for 8GB/512GB. In what world is that more money? That's a heck of a lot cheaper. Even comparing lower tiers, it's cheaper. 8GB/128GB on the Samsung for 1100€, 8GB 256GB on the Motorola for 940€. This article is really confusing to read because they're claiming the Samsung is cheaper when it's clearly significantly more expensive.

we'll see if it comes to UK and North America what the sales numbers will be.

If no carrier partnerships it'll be lower than with.

Yukvgffh, 10 Oct 2022It has to be priced less to stand a chance. Samsung has bet... moreby after sales support:
do you meant device hardware/software support?
or do you mean device hardware warranty support? I'd say the latter is accurate yet unsure about software support - as when you call in for support vs what's available -need to be clear on this as inference from person to person heavily differs as I've mentioned in my question above.

Samsung has the better option for trade-in pricing, and for contract sales THAT alone will kill this Razr 2022 as a viable competitor for many. That said I feel the Flip4 is for tech enthusiasts and mostly for females due to the makeup-case kind of design reference. This RAZR 2022 only in Black and wider is a man's device.

                Strange article.

12GB RAM/512GB Storage of the Razr 2022 is better than the Galaxy z Flip4's 8GB/512RAM. It's also significantly MORE capable with better camera's (software needs to be refined according to china release model previews, no full reviews I've seen yet). Much larger and worlds more capable external screen - period!

For this article even mentioning the Huawei devices is a joke not even a comparison at all!
You cannot even use on most networks globally not even to mention many MDM solutions for work. Older chipset, so why bother?

@notafanboy, we get it you're not a fan but recent other models launched less than 60 days ago have significantly positive reviews so they're not shipping junk. Say you dislike it and leave it at that, but without proof about junk nor example's you come across as a disgruntled hater. we get the job of a hater but at least try defining your reason for it, at least. cheers.

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2022Razr looks lile clamshell phone. Flip looks like makeup case. The Flip is entirely designed to appeal to women which is why it looks like that. The Razr doesn’t look like the V3 which is why I’m certainly not interested.

More junk from this brand. Yikes

It is better. It has better design.

Chinese flagships are normally around 50% more expensive in Europe so it would make sense that it would be over €1,200. €1200 would be less than 40% more which would be unusual and less than the usual mark up. Wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to €1,300
