Lava should try a flagship, with 3.5mm and microSD. They'll get a unique product this way.

This is a midranger and many exist in the market. The Made in India sentiment will help this phone but not much else.

      How bad our current smartphone industry has to be when headphone jack and microSD slot is a headline grabber? It should be a standard mandatory features in the first place. I use my cheap wired headphones way more than my wireless TWS earbuds.

The original Nokia did that to the N8-00 at first, but opened everything through update. Nokia 8 is still limited on the camera performance. Remember when Google locked its camera hardware through software, which was later opened for full access, through update? Nokia 8 still haven't been opened. The hardware is still software blocked. And it doesn't matter if you root the unit or use any other 3rd party camera app. Hmd still haven't done what Nokia did.

                        Nevertheless I can live with the limitations of the camera app and most of the issues were fixed with the final update at least, and there's also Google camera so it's pretty easy to manage.

Timelapse was standard 4k video. Manual (pro) mode was very limited. Ai ruined more than it did good. N8-00 did it better, even though it didn't have manual mode.

Lava bought parts that are rejected by 1st tier Chinese brands like Xiaomi and even 2nd tier brands like Umidigi, assemble them in India and voila, it's an Indian brand! The fact that Lava trying to sell their phones at their current pricing is an insult to Indian people intelligence.
