How about Sony will make its own OS for its bigtime smartphones, tablets, laptops etc. and leave Android OS forever? Since they have their owned well-known TradeMarks such as WALKMAN, CYBERSHOT, BRAVIA, PlayStation, and a lot more...they have also their own Market for apps.....how about that? Maybe that's a big leap for Sony Industry...and a big "BOOM" to its competitors!.....MAKE.BELIEVE

Sony rocks! They have been learning their lessons. They have a few premium phones for 2013. Xperia Z is just the begining. Firefox OS will be in their entry level phones. They may also release a windows phone. Now Im hoping that they release a windows 8 in the xperia z tablet body. I will buy it

Sony can make firefox but i guess it's sort of dependent on cloud-based apps. Not good for places where data plan is expensive. Android is the best for now. Maybe windows phone also? And they should make more waterproof phones but pls make really good camera on phones. The exmor thingy is getting abused and will not do any good for the trademark.

Look at it, it need years and years to grow into a full smartphone os. But it's exactly what I want for a low end phone, it's like a feature phone replacement. The html5 app platform is genius and I believe Android will soon support those apps as well.

The damned about Sony is ... moreStrange then that xperia U been the undisputed champ in budget dual core Android. I think you don't know anything about xperia. Or about Sony. Or about much else. How can WP8 be an alternative to an open html5 based system? So clueless you are.

Plus, WP8 is gonna flop, the unstable behavior makes it useless even for business users, freeze and shutdowns may be fun for you but it's not a desired feature for most buyers.

The damned about Sony is that they don't sell their stuff cheap. So, how much is this phone gonna be to be considering as a budget phone? And if I'm not mistaking that Sony already has some low end cheap android phones that selling directly from their website [ Sony dot com US ] and its a unlocked phone too. It's around 169.99 and if its on sell its 149.99. So, here's the next question, how much is Sony gonna sell this smartphone for? Lessons than 100bucks? Or 50bucks? If no, then it's failed. P.S. isn't Nokia just deliver 2 cheap wp 8 phones from the lumia line last week? The 520 its less than 200bucks as gsma said.

I use to own a N95 8GB, I don't remember not being able to done what I want and what I need with it. It can do and done everything that I need and anything that I want as what a phone for. And hey, I said I wanted to [ TRY ] not to ditch anything. Also do remember apple was never a phone maker or cellphone OS maker and then their created iOS and now millions of sheet following them, so if apple able to deliver. MS can too. A big Guy behind WP 8 is MS, you think that they will let it die?
