Majority of people who do keep their devices for longer than 3 years are middle aged or older. At least where I am. It might be different story in your country. ✌️

tip: Resist the urge of ordering right after a launch. You'll notice, that it was just hype and it settled.

Why is there a LIMIT to updates?! OTA updates can be pushed through forever provided your device has the memory & processor to handle newer updates.

Google probably know that an already 2(?) year old SoC will only ever be able to cope with another 3 years of WearOS updates? Although why they couldn't offer 4 years of security updates is an odd move as basically the watch will be worthless now after 3 years.

Like that battery will last more than two years ... 730 charging cycles in two years ... good luck with 5 year support on such a device.

It's better to have longer software support and create less e-waste.

MKBHD actually used the galaxy S21 Ultra !!! On the iOS side the family of Rene Ritchie are still using 2017 iPhones. There is absolutely no reason for the AVERAGE user to update more frequently than every 3 years. Anybody on this forum isn't an average user and we constitute a very small proportion of the people that buy phones.I have a 3 year old Note 10 Plus that still looks and works great and it meets all my needs. I have a 2 year old iPhone 11 Pro Max still looking and working great too. Stop buying into the marketing hype. The days of needing a frequent upgraded are gone. The main reason I'm getting the S23 Ultra is the Note 10 Plus will stop getting security patches next year.
