SuuperBaka, 14 Oct 2022Honestly. Nokia stopped making phones since they got their ... morePerfectly said. Microsoft ruined Nokia and its heritage.
It's surprising that some people think that Nokia under Microsoft is better than HMD. At least HMD makes surprisingly decent phones despite not being designed or manufactured by themselves (looks generic but not bad either), compared to the flimsy S30+ phones and Microsoft-branded Lumias made by Microsoft after dissolving Symbian MeeGo, S40 and Asha.

Nope. Nokia's patents and intellectual property portfolio last longer than that. They worked hard for it and earned it. They make profit out of it as a result of THEIR INNOVATION and R&D. Funny how you point out "expired license" which is not true. You know what's true? OPPO's LICENSE TO USE THE PATENT EXPIRED.

        Going back reality:
nope and nope. NOKIA does not make phones, hmd does, nokia supports them tough.
Their main icome is most probably from developing networks and hardware for networks, mostly enterprise level and almost Nothing consumer level. Patents are more like a montly sallary that keep the basis afloat.
So please people, just stop talking about things you do not know with laud voice, is just emberesing.

GregLu, 14 Oct 2022Add a pinch of inflation and a TADA! A 2000 EUR phone is... moreNot even 1500EUR smartphones should be considered a standard. But, there are a lot of fanboys (especially the Apple ones), who will defend those prices and find excuses for those prices.
Fanboys (of all brands) are the c*ncer of smartphone business. Because their love for particular brands, makes them pay whatever the company ask them to pay. And thus, all the prices will go up.

But luckily, there are good signs too. You can still find nowadays very good phones for 500EUR. Even 300-400EUR, if you look closely and have a little bit of patience.

In the ultra budget market Nokia is very competitive the software on Nokia phones stock Android

Nokia is the only brand too have AndroidOne and 2 new Android versions updates on affordable smartphones

In the uk smartphones like the Nokia g10 & g11 can be found at discount prices making them sub 100 pound smartphones

It's hard too beat the Nokia g10 at 75 pound or Nokia g11 at 90 pound or at least in the uk

Even the hardware is good value for money in the budget market also the battery life is very good

The Nokia c series are good Vs there price equipment competitors and the cheapest g series are good

I am of the option Nokia X series phones are overpriced and underpowered

Not that I'm being biased but still there are other brands that didn't do well enough to their history such as TCL that started making Alcatel and Blackberry phones from 2018.
At least there's better response from HMD towards feedback compared to the recent years, which I believe is a good move. If they came up with more original designs, they surely can create their own niche.

Absolutely based, not just it's important that IP is protected at all costs ... we as consumers might finally get spyware free phones.
These oppo and vivo have been doing shady business arround the world. I'd rather buy a phone which is a bit lacking in hardware over these Chinese brands which don't even allow to install custom rom and spy on it's users.

they deserved it for offering entry level phones at high prices
