I got rid of smartthings because of very poor support of local automatization , hubitat is much better

Matter also brings increased security, but privacy is still down to the manufacturer or company you're using as to how they use your personal data.
Thread is a key part of Matter and how devices communicate batten each other, including WiFi and Bluetooth, the other great thing is that you won't need a hug for Apple homekit devices any more, but you'll likely get the best user experience from using the ecosystems aa originally intended.
