I have a Dimensity 1100 phone, so I can speak especially for the MTK side. Of all the games I've downloaded, the only one that actually has support for 60+ refresh rate was New State Mobile, a PUBG branch/clone. For other app's HRR support, it depends on the individual app as my phone can't force change the refresh rate across the board.
The current lack of optimizations + the fact that you probably won't ever be able to do custom ROMs for MTK chips should be your top concerns when deciding to buy a Dimensity-powered phone.

Iqoo started as a gaming brand but now they are just the same as any other all round brand. They release phones at all price points. The article here refers to it as a gaming phone but it's not. It basically is Vivo's answer to the Redmi k series. This one targets the same type of market as the Redmi k50 ultra
