New design, new chipset, new battery, but that may be where the upgrades end.

Samsung has been using the 108mp sensor since 2020, meanwhile Xiaomi went from same sensor in 2020 for its top of the line phone, to larger 50mp one 2021, to even larger one for 2022.

And yeah, optimisation and everything, I agree, but if Huawei could introduce basically new sensor every year or two, and push camera software at same time, then a company like Samsung should be able to, but they are more and more riding on success of their name like Apple, instead of their products.

To certain extent I understand incremental upgrades, year by year leaps in technology are smaller and smaller, but I feel like Samsung could do more just like Apple.

Regular S series phones used to come with 1440p screens, now they are 1080p, it wouldn't be such a hard pill to swallow now if they were LTPO, but they aren't. Cameras remin the same and don't get any big upgrades for years, tho if UW and Zoom lens do get an upgrade like article says it will be okay since main sensor was introduced on S22.

I honestly feel like Samsung could put at least some middle ground between 1080p and 1440p like Xiaomi did with 12T's and also use the same main sensor as in S22U and not make phone much more, if any more expensive, especially due to latter, that sensor is same as one in S20U iirc, by now cost of its production has to have fallen.

Ever since Huawei hasn't been in the global playing field it looks like manufacturers can't really be bothered.
