Samsung is the strongest smartphone brand. Many people want the flagship of the strongest smartphone brand. They have no choice when it comes to the curved display if they want the flagship of the strongest brand.
Samsung had it's peak market share, over 30%, when both S and Note had flat displays though. They have been +/- 20% market share ever since the edge/curved/infinity nonsense. Did all switch solely because of the annoying displays? Probably not, but probably quite a few nonetheless.
Sansung has dialled down the aggressivness of the edge, but I won't ve happy until only the bezel is curved. Curving the bezel is perfectly fine, as long as the display is flat. That is my opinion and preference
You may prefer to have your content warped due to a non-flat display, and its fine if you do.
I don't, hence I have to bring my old Mi Max on my long distance trips after geeting the Mi 11 to be able to enjoy content as it is supposed to look, unwarped on the top and bottom.

The curved display is not a good thing. The only true downside on my phone is it's curved display. The rest is great :-)

Shadocx, 23 Oct 2022Curved screens are fragile, the frame of the phone is usual... moreTbh I've noticed screen protectors being finicky with curved screens, my mates find x2 Pro has one on and it is peeling from the top left corner (he has had it over a year though but its put me off getting a screen protector for my find X5).
I've just never had a problem other than that one time, only the last month I've been using a case with my phone (after atleast 10 years), never used to and I've dropped phones many times.
For me it's about the glass quality (I've noticed victus is terrible, scratches from laying your phones screen down on a surface, my pixel 6 pro looked like a cat had been at it), like I said my partners kid smacked my P40 pro off a corner of a metal table and yes it cracked but there was no damage to the actual screen, just a long thin crack under the camera and ToF sensor (it had even basically chipped tiny bits of glass out but no damage at all to the screen underneath). Still fully useable even over the cracked part. Personally aswell I think flat screens look cheap, my partners iPhone 13 looks cheap next to my find X5 just because of the screen and thick bezels.

Be realistic if the higher charging is so bad EU and other international courts wouldnt allows it.

Relax, they love to experiment. Just one or two variany using curved display. Dont buy it and then next year they will revert back to all flat display

Absence of not charging at 200W in tests for example is not evidence that it is destructive.. absence of evidence isn't evidence..
Scientifically those scenarios need to be done and those results need to be presented before we objectively conclude things
What makes things muddy we can't just blanket fast charging is bad because there is NO standard there are too many variations and implementations
