India is just openly stealing Google's money now with the excuse of 3rd party which are not even secure to begin with. I hope it backfires & they have to pay Google.

This rubbish has started in India too.
They don't realise that we customers will pay for all this through more and more ads. Youtube now shows uto 4 ads per video. 1 in starting 2 in middle, and one in the end at least.
Nobody is stopping the companies itself. All they do is fine companies which we will bear.

Restrict 3rd party payment?
Weird.. in my country (indonesia) i can do it for years by using gopay. I also pay google drive yearly subscription with it. I thought other countries can also do the same.

Android doesn't prevent third-party app stores, right? I'm not even defending both Google and Apple, but y'all keep yapping about them being greedy, yet you don't think about how much the whole infrastructure actually costs to keep it running - let alone get it scaling as more and more users use them. Y'all are a spoiled and entitled bunch😂

The different governments around the world can fine Google, Apple, and Amazon all they want it won't change anything about how the big multi-billion dollar company conducts business. Because at the end of the day the big multi-billion dollar company has well-trained lawyers that will appeal and dig out the case for years. Different government around the world is just looking for money during this high inflation and economic downturn so they target US companies that have billions of dollars in the bank.🤡😂😱

This is sad. Apple is even worse with third party payments, especially in apps. India is being a bit over top with fining Google for this just as the UK was for fining Google because they were making phone makers pre-install the Chrome browser and Search app as a part of a revenue-sharing scheme. Its Google’s OS they get to choose what runs and how companies use it.

All this could've been easily avoided if all these big tech companies weren't being so greedy about app-store payments and their own "cut" out of it which usually happens to be too much thereby making developers ask for a third party payments option

Banks should adopt their own contactless payment system via their own apps instead of relying on apple and google. Why let these two know what you spend?
