sure..., 01 Mar 2013Don't believe ......these idiots gave us big hand ....well ... moreAll Windows Phone 7.X is based on the ancient Windows CE Kernel from the old Pocket PC and Windows Mobile. That's why it's not upgradeable to WP8. WP8 is using the Windows NT kernel, same kernel as Windows 8, Windows 2012 Server, etc... It's more future proofed.

AnonD-107466, 01 Mar 2013I can only say is "wait till it they start doing what ... moreYes, that would satisfy me. I just don't want to see any nonsense such as updates not being compatible with devices that have been sold within the last year or so. You know, something like "well, this update only works with devices with 1gb of RAM or higher so sorry Lumia 520, 620 & 720 owners but you don't qualify."
Customers, particularly the 2-year contract ones, HATE that kind of stuff with a passion. So if MS wants people to believe in the WP8 platform and embrace it like the love of a good woman, they won't pull any stunts like the one I just mentioned.

No offense Microsoft, but after screwing over the WP7.5 early adopters what makes you think anyone will believe what you have to say about updates? Also, the words "probably" and "might" in this article don't exactly inspire confidence. Actions speak louder than words. You want to earn our trust back? Deliver. Period.

And btw, I am a Nokia fan also and I know for sure, these new Windows Phone 8 smartphones devices doesn't require many resources like gigs of ram and quad core processors, they can run on even MBs of Ram easily and without any lag.
For the future update, I am damn sure it won't require more than 512 MB of Ram to run smoothly. It is already smooth as Windows proved it in the past and will be.
