Anonymous, 03 Nov 2022Imx989 is "new" 766 Nah, IMX800/IMX866 is going to be new IMX766, I assure. IMX766 was the new IMX586. If you consider the value and importance of their specifications for their eras, you will get what I mean. IMX989 is top-notch, it has ultra-large size and its processing skills are revolutionary, thus having no direct alternatives (In fact, GN2 is the closest option to go for, but somehow it's weaker, not all about its size), but IMX586 already had alternatives (at least Huawei was using a better sensor, so was Honor), same applies to IMX766 so you need to change your perspective a bit.

Only Pro+ model going to use that 1" Sensor.
Other Pro model may use IMX766(1/1.56") or IMX707 (1/1.28") Sensor.

I have a magic 4 pro, and still on August 2022 security patch. My first and last honor device. Even my Huawei mate 40 pro and p40 Pro have October security patches.
