Carl Pei doesnt understand audio.... it took him forever to care about the camera... and after deleting the headphone jack it will take him forever to understand what good audio is...

Having a more isolated aural experience might be of benefit to your calls and music on noisy streets, but at the expense of peripheral awareness. No thanks. I see people daily, walking, riding into potentially life-taking situations. All very shocked to find other things are going on outside their silicone-insulated, compacted ear-wax soundstage.
A bit of background noise with half-ins is a better life experience. Get a proper headset for home or the office.

I really want to like these.
Pei ok'd OnePlus's 1st two iterations of their buds and they're meh, at best.
not very hopeful and this review reeks of roses.

This is some low quality journalistic piece of work. Here are the facts against your misinformation.
1. There are more options (from Samsung, Oppo, JBL, SoundPeats, Marshall, Panasonic, Xiaomi etc.) of half ear headphones, than just Apple Airpods.
2. In-ear design causes more discomfort to some people. Risk of getting ear infection is higher with this design and as well as the risk of damaging your hearing, all thanks to the vacuum created by in-ear design.
3. Both designs have their Pros and Cons, neither design is perfect, so neither can suit everyone.
In my experience, modern half-ear headphones provide better comfort to my ears, I can wear them all day long and forget that I have them on. With in-ears, the longest I can wear them is maximum one hour without discomfort, no matter the brand and tips size I use, my ear canal gets irritated and begins to hurt.
My ears might be special, but certainly not to the point of being one of 4 people in the world, but perhaps 4% of world's population?
That would be still quite a large customer base, so manufacturers will keep producing headphones with half-ear design no matter the opinion of a GSMArena reviewer.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2022Not a bad product but at $99 not worth Just bought Soundcore Space A40 with 100 dollars. Very good mid range pair with natural sound and long battery life. Also have a high end pair Jabra Elite 85t. Superb model that costs 230 dollars without sales and discounts. Also have two low end pairs around 30 - 50 dollars. Phillips TAT2206 with good vocal but weak bass. Edifier X5 with lower vocal quality but more powerful bass.

If you dont need app, you can get similar, if not better earphones in Aliexpress for like 20$ :D
They would not only sound exactly the same but also have cheap transparent case! :D

Guys, you have to stop reviewing headphones, besides terrible looking mug shots of aged hairy man body parts you seems to have no idea about how to review consumer audio products, it is really really awkward… Very bad example! Your phone reviews are much much better!
