I hear the smart stylus will have an infinitely variable haptic-like vibration feature. A barely perceptible level of vibration will give the illusion of the minute friction caused by using a fine fountain pen on quality vellum bond paper when using handwriting recognition in apps. Higher levels of vibration will be programmable, for example, when a calendar reminder is triggered. Initially the API calls to control the occurrence and level of vibration will not be available to third party developers. The current Apple roadmap for iterations of iOS releases tentatively ties the smart stylus release to iOS version 6.9. With iOS 6.9, in addition to the core functionality of the vibrating stylus, Apple will introduce a suite of new Apple apps that complement the smart stylus. Little is known about the new app suite except that Apple in-house developers are reported to be excited about the new “killer app” presently codenamed “BBC” which is said to make innovative use of the more extreme vibration settings and to complement the expected form factor of the stylus, that is, it is going to be available only in black and about the size of an extra-long banana (but without the banana curve). Well, it's just what I have heard.

Zzz, 06 Mar 2013I use S Pen for drawing. I do too. I use it to digital paint. Not a lot of people realize this, now that the Photoshop Touch app is out, you got a mini Wacom Cintique when you use the Note. I now can do higher res pixels than Sketchbook Pro. This was what I finished in the cafe yesterday:

I have a Note 2 and don't use the S-Pen a lot but it is really handy on web pages which have drop down menus.

Lol, the next iphone will share the same fate as the other iphones....it will fail hard against the next galaxy note. Everyone knows the gods cant win against the titans.
Loved how everyone laughed and criticized the galaxy note concept in the beginning and now they're just casually taking cues from samsung and implementing it in their own smart phones(big screen, stylus etc)
Also, for the ignorant, I'm not saying samsung invented the stylus like how most people say apple invented the mouse. I'm saying samsung brought it BACK and in a FUNCTIONAL way more than ever before. Like how apple saw xerox with the mouse concept and were the first to commercialize the idea in a FUNCTIONAL way.
Whats ironic too is apple taking cues from a company they claim to have copied their every turn. So I guess one can technically call it even.
