JayrBars, 12 Nov 2022If you play at low quality and low frames, yes it wontYou either have fault unit or your just trolling, theoretically its really hard for cortex A78 which is clocked lower to overheat, sd 778 and other midrange with cortex A78 like D920, D900, sd 695 etc sustain perfomance over 80% in 3dmark stress test and equivalent benchmarks. These midrange soc use lower than 4W in day to day usage.

Even Galaxy A73 5G has 5 years software support, thats 1 year extra compared to A72 5G and A52s 5G

You see a lot of people talking about A52s, bc its a good value device. You rarely see someone mentioning A73. Even A72 gets more buzz around it.
And its not the price, it really is just that unpopular. It is by no means a bad device, but its a downgrade compared to the A72, its a scam compared to the A52s, and with the price it had, there were far better options out there

And my expectation with a73 for games was high because of sd778g. Other features are good to great!

These phones are apparently better equipped (suitable, actually) for such tasks having SD870 (865) so you can't expect same performance from SD778 phone. And doesn't have Poco some cooling chamber to it... If that's what you're after in the first place, you should have the Poco instead.
Some heating (getting warm) especially with more demanding tasks is normal, however overall I don't have any problems. Then again (logically) more powerful chip heats up less doing same task.

My devices are mostly carrier subsidized (mostly free for 50usd/mo for each of my 2 carriers) for 2 years, but i usually change phones every year so i sell my samsungs (or iphones) and buy myself 2 devices if same or mixed android brands.

Doing light moba games a52s throttles faster (not evenn 15mins) compared to my old poco f3 and f2 pro and my s21 fe. Its the same case with my sisters a73. She doesnt play any games but when watching on youtube it heats up faster than my old phones.

you have to suffer, 11 Nov 2022they do exist but its basically a52s without 3.5mm jack.With slightly bigger screen
With higher megapixel main cam
With bigger battery
Last but not least, with higher price.
Edit:
One notable similarity is they both heat up fast and throttles hard. I have the a73, my brother has the a52s.
Hope they fix this in this update.
