Sigh yet another phone with 8mp/5mp UW + 2mp depth/macro sensor.
Why can't the OEM understand that 48mp main cam + 12mp UW+ 8mp telephoto camera system is far far better than using high megapixel count on main cam to depend on crop zoom, while crippling the UW lens and using crap 2mp sensor just to show that the phone have 3 camera on the back.

UltraHD, 23 Nov 2022Honor costs too much in my country while they offer peanuts... moreNah, Honor budget and midrange phones are not that good for the prices they are asking. Cameras on their budget and midrange phones are just average and MagicUI is still poorly optimized most of the time.

Honor axed features they provided on previous generation models. That's it.

They axed features provided on previous generations, dual speakers(70pro/pro+), telephoto cameras(70pro/pro+), OIS(from V40).
Besides, no metal frame, no dual-band GPS, no DSDA. The pill-shaped dual front camera is only for marketing purpose. One of them is useless depth sensor(2mp)...
The 160MP main camera has a tiny pixel size of 0.56um, seems like they cropped HP3, but why?
Well, honor is very similar to oppo reno, these companies keeps axing features over generations...

"The 10-bit panel features a centered pill-shaped cutout below the ear speaker, which houses a 50MP selfie camera alongside a secondary 2MP depth module."
was the depth module for the selfie camera such a quality boost to justify such an ugly, annoying punch hole placed in the midst of the display? about 10% of the display surface is now unusable. This design destroys the actual quality of the device by degrading it to an iphone 14 pro max copy.

Aierlan, 23 Nov 2022The regular honor 80 seems not bad. Pricing is competitive.... moreGiven current trend, of midrage to "flagship killer" category devices coming back to 8MP UWA and 2MP macro cams, and seeing this midrage to have 5MP UWA cam - I think that next to that there should be some 0.3MP macro imager.. Technological regress in all its "glory"

sm4rt4ss, 23 Nov 2022Who makes this 160mp senator? It's just a gimmick actually. It doesn't click them in 160 mp, but more like putting 16 10-megapixel photos into one

The regular honor 80 seems not bad. Pricing is competitive. Similar to Xiaomi pricing. The pro model is also ok but the dual punch hole at the front is absolutely ridiculous. Taking up screen space for an extra depth sensor makes zero sense. I can understand an argument for a dual punch hole in previous models of this series where they had an ultrawide (personally wouldn't use it but some people might like it) but wasting screen space for a depth sensor....... Pity because it seems not bad apart from that. I think the camera hardware is worse than the 70 series but the price is better and the pro has a better chip and isp so that has to be considered

Honor costs too much in my country while they offer peanuts compared to what other companies offer.
I understand they're maybe great but nearly 600€ for a mid-range is crazy, for all brands even.
Although considering 80 Pro has a flagship chipset, maybe not that crazy but we'll see.
