if i want iOS i will go for iphone...the newer or older whateva it may be...
If i want android i have thousands of phones to choose from....
So everyone OEM gets their share...
But still samsung stands out of them...with whooping 45% of android smartphones dales

Hmm .. if ipad mini gain gsm call / sms ability.. It would trash all other phones out there including iphones lol.
Releasing more products, means customer will have more choice, but the number of customer is limited. So its like a bell curve, it will end up eating into the other device sales.
Fine example is ipad mini, its eating into the profit of ipads.. and trashing other tablets out there.. if not for the price.

Samsung Galaxy S4 will BLAST the opposition.
Apple can do whatever they want.
Top 3 selling devices of 2013 will be S4 , HTC One and Note 3
followed by Apple Iphone 5

Apple is a business and they will do everything necessary to generate profit. The reason they don't get into low end phone market is because they will lose more money than they can generate. Apple would need a whole new division to dive into that market, whereas Samsung and Nokia always had presence since the early 2000s so they already have those divisions.
Only those with the production capability to manufacture low end phone with minimum cost will remain in that market. Currently, only Samsung, Nokia, and ZTE are capable of doing so.

That's not true! Everybody knows who came out with best phones and still coming up with em! Its apple! You mean to say features? Features are definitely better and original in apple!

They will be destroyed by the cost leaders in the market if they try to get into low end models. Apple simply can't afford to enter that market.

don't you think samsung had filed a patent this time.... and it was truly non sense ones.... but apple should take on samsung in the consumer world..by innovation and better pricing instead of killing competition though law suits...samsung has sure come a long long way in innovation...the note 2 is the best example....

Samsung were struggling against HTC in smartphones, until they ripped off the iPhone with the Galaxy S. They were riding the coat tails of Apples success, copying the OS, gestures.
Without this, Samsung would just be another LG.

Without offending any of the companies,
Apple with one phone can receive AROUND 34% (FIGURES MAY BE WRONG) in the market share whilst Samsung receives around 57% with a wide range of phones, imagine the market share if Apple were to make 2 or 3 awesome phones(SO APPLE IS NOT SCARED).
No offense to any of the companies above.
