Apple has no capability to manufacture the displays themselves so they goto manufacturer such as Samsung to make it for them. Like how tsmc makes apples cpus. And Sony making the image sensors.

Samsung has the monopoly in OLED displays bc they make the best displays. Any other brand besides LG that makes OLED panels is a cheap Chinese brand
Apple isn't a display maker so instead of trying to make displays from scratch it's more cheaper to outsource from other brands. Xiaomi, oppo, Vivo, asus, OnePlus and literally every other brand uses Samsung oled panels on their flagships so it's no surprise that apple is one of them too

Having multiple suppliers is essential to reduce dependency and protect the device manufacturer from supply chain problems. Then why not manufacture the whole device themselves? Because it is not very efficient in terms of scale and ROI. Why not do only something you're best at and let others (the contract manufacturers) do the work they do best?

First experience with amoled i had with is samsung galaxy s and samsung nexus. The worst experience ever. Colors are way off, eyes started to hurt, especially in low lit environment, burn ins..i switched again to IPS and was very surprised how better they are. I again couple of year later switched to another iteration of samsung galaxy at that time because i thought they maybe perfected amoles ,but experience was the same. I returned the phone after one day and after that amoled for me doesn't exist. There were no IPS phone i could choose as company phone so i choose samsung s10. After couple of days again i returned it. When i need to switch phone, unfortunately no IPS flagships so i will switch to best IPS phone that will be available at that time.

It's impossible to find flagship phone with IPS,and that's why i didn't swotched phone for 4 years now. I have android but almost switched to iphone se3. The only thing what stopped me is crappy battery life. Small screen and so so camera also was a turn off.

Why apple replaced the amazing retina IPS display with the cheap crapoled also known as scamoled by scamsung? Unfortunately Xiaomi did the same on some models.
