Anonymous, 30 Nov 2022Still loving my Xiaomi 11. I'm not sure it'll be ... moreXiaomi 11 series definitely holds up and was mostly better than the 12 series for me. Support is running out though unfortunately.

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2022Xiaomi weakness is they have camera processing quality is b... morexiaomis processing is the best on the market cause its the most natural. All the other brands oversharpen, add fake looking HDR, oversaturate etc.

TheLastOracle, 30 Nov 2022So basically it's a faceoff between Xiaomi and Vivo: ... moreSamsung will eat them with 4/3" sensor soon, they bought Israeli company in 2020 which specialises in compact optics.

Until they will implement their own 210 w charge technology to all xiaomi lineup and 4 years software updates all they can do is show off!
Xiaomi better reed this comments here if want to grow!
The flagship xiaomi phones has the opportunity to go big with 3 steps :
          1- 210 w fast charge
          2- 4 major software updates
          3- card support

Nick Tegrataker, 01 Dec 2022Did you even read the article? The entire one of two module... moreAs usual, haters are quick to bash. The importance of reading the whole article and actually understanding the details are not what these haters come here for.

IpsDisplay, 30 Nov 2022Xiaomi's number flagship like the 13 strangely are the... moreIMHO, with that series Xiaomi always tried to compromise between high-end components/functions and implementing popular "sTyLiSh" tendencies, or something like that. I think the most obvious example of that was Mi 8. And, e.g., K series always was way less into "style" territory.

RealLifePhones, 30 Nov 2022did xiaomi just try to sell us auto focus as something new?... moreDid you even read the article? The entire one of two modules that contain the lens elements moves to switch between the macro mode and the normal (which is described as "infinite") focusing mode, this is nothing to do with AF.

Doru, 30 Nov 2022Hope more companies start using shorter but higher quality ... moreThe reason is current main sensor getting so much pixels and details, you can easily crop into 2x or even 3x and still having good 12MP that will probably rival optically 2x sensor which is usually much smaller. The same reason why manufacturer often use the main sensor instead of the zoom at dim lighting.

TheLastOracle, 30 Nov 2022So basically it's a faceoff between Xiaomi and Vivo: ... moreXiaomi phones do not have glass element inside cam module.
Nor Leica make the lenses. Chinese phones use same suppliers used by Apple and Samsung.
                    8P = 8 plastic elements.

Glass that covers the bump is not part of camera system.

                    Such ignorance !!

IpsDisplay, 30 Nov 2022And is the ultra full of nasty cuts.. cause I realised you ... moreK50 Ultra is no near 12s Ultra.
                      BoM is much cheaper.
                      Probably not even $280.

So basically it's a faceoff between Xiaomi and Vivo:
                        1. Vivo has partnered wifh Zeiss with their T* formulation (glass and coating) that reduces glare and ghosting. The lens has a very wide f/1.75 aperture.
                        2. Xiaomi has partnered with Leica with their glass (and similar coating), but with a slightly slower f/1.9 lens.

Both cameras sport the 1inch Sony 989 sensor.

The contest should be pretty interesting.

Hope more companies start using shorter but higher quality telephoto lenses: optical 2x or 3x is a lot more useful for photography than 5x, 10x and other marketing fancy stuff.

And don't take Oppo and Vivo's overwhelming ads about how good their cameras on their budget and midrange phones as the truth either, because only their flagship Oppo Find X and Vivo X series are good. Even 'well-known' camera focused models like Oppo Reno and Vivo V are mostly overhyped.

happy to nice innovation coming out of the Xiaomi-Leica partnership. happy to see this is not any useless partnership like that of oneplus/oppp-Hasselblad.

I thought I might have wait for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
because I see no use of 2x tele lense.
but now I hope I won't have wait that long. 3x tele lense is enough and this Leica assisted lense is better that other brands with more functionalities and innovation.

but you proved that you are very ignorant.
why don't you try to focus a very close photo-subject with any telephoto lense from any brand.
then you might understand that Xiaomi is really doing great with their partnership with Leica.

It’s crazy how this guy is recording this on the Xiaomi 14 Pro

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2022That would be 450mm equivalent. That is not "60x"... moreIt would be 150 mm, or about 6x like the first person said. 12MP at 3x (75 mm) with pixel binning, or 12MP crop from 50MP at 6x (150 mm) without pixel binning. Cut both the horizontal and vertical resolution in half = 2x crop or 1/4 the megapixels.
