Its the same with most brand, people buy it to associate with it.. people who actually really look into the tech and make informed decisions based on whats being offered are far and few in comparison to the masses that just buy to flaunt

Even google is behind Samsung.

But the software, for me, is not optimised. I'm using a snapdragon S22 ultra and it stutters a lot and has numerous software issues. Speakers aren't great. Cameras are wonky, they're extremely noisy in extreme high dynamic range photos. Photos are noisy in general. Videos and photos are oversharpened till they're full of artifacts. White balance is pretty off from reality which I'd have been fine with if the colours looked better, but they don't, at least to me. The phone's battery isn't confidence inspiring either. The fingerprint scanner does not properly work with a screen protector. I'm gonna get a midrange phone next, flagships aren't worth it anymore. Fast software updates are great but the experience overall is not. Sad thing is, in the flagship market everything else is full of flaws as well. Oneplus phones are insanely buggy nowadays with people saying displays glitching out. Xiaomi forgets how to update their phones. Oppo's skin just isn't it. Vivo's pretty slow to roll out their updates. Google on the other hand produces huge messes in the form of the Pixel phones. I can not trust them. Apple on the other hand has great hardware but the software is just so wack, I don't want to feel confined

Even in china, people would prefer an iphone than a domestic brand. Since most domestic brands are just copycats of the iphone anyways. Why would you settle for a copycat? why not get what they are copying?

If you got to malls, you can see their ads plastered on everything, walls, escalators etc. I don't know why you are not aware? they actually spend a lot on marketing.

I would rather buy the vanilla X90. It's much cheaper and lack of 1 inch sensor isn't too much a deal breaker for me.

Their closest camera/content-creation rival, Sony, is already struggling with very uncompetitive pricing amidst the IMPENETRABLE wall (and cheap carrier deals) of Samsung and Apple, especially in the US, CA, and AU.
OnePlus tried, and they bombed so hard they started spamming cheap phones (Nord 10, 20, 30) with laughable components to try and puff up their sales figures...

The specs are great and it's predecessors got much priase even on professional photography sites such as Dpreview.
So, of course is this phone of high interest for photography enthusiasts.
That being said, it's not relevant for most people because it's not available outside China.
And then there is the question of of hardware stability and software support: how many years of major and security updates are being provided?
Are there any voco service centers that can change the battery when it wears out after 2-3 years of use?

It is not simple and cheap to be everywhere like motorola, samsung and apple.
Sales are not always enough to keep operations in some places.

Regarding the upcoming vivo x90 pro which promises to be a top flagship android phone by being the first phone to be powered by the Qualcomm snapdragon 8 gen 2 chip should bring a lot of excitement and innovation in phone technology. However all this maybe overshadowed by Apple's iPhone 14 pro and max variants powered by the even more powerful a16 bionic chip in benchmark performance tests. And add to that Apple's superiority in hardware/software optimization efficiency vs android phones.
