Anonymous, 30 Jan 2024Many Samsung phones are made in korea in the samsung korean... moreStill, Samsung doesn't design or manufacture any of their phones. That's what I wanted to highlight from my comment. There are high chances that the website only mentions the headquarters' location, but not the country of manufacture.

Minu, 18 Dec 2022Every single Samsung phone is made by Huaqin, lol. Also ag... moreMany Samsung phones are made in korea in the samsung korean factories.
This is known via the IMEI number which records the true manufacture place. As far as I know there are no lies in IMEI.
Most boxes say "Made in China/Vietnam/India" to either avoid high import taxes, or in India's case, to allow entry into the country.
      https://web.archive.org/web/20240130173707/https://cdn7.ouedkniss.com/1600/medias/announcements/images/kE44X/JZNvlxbRbCdjTFZq8JN6lsIeeweRnQj7XLVsMmCB.jpg
      I checked this IMEI
      Estimated Warranty End Date: 03-12-2024
Production location: Korea SEC (Osong/Gunpo/Hwaseong Factories; the page may be lazily slapping Korea SEC on all Samsung IMEIs though...)
      Production Date: 03-12-2022
      I also found an article:
      >Samsung manufactured approximately 300 million smartphones in 2021, TheElec has learned.

      >According to sources, it manufactured 238.88 million units on its own. Over 60 million units were manufactured through joint development manufacturers such as Wingtech and Huaqin.
      >In total, Samsung made slightly over 300 million smartphones.
Then the comparatively few that are made in China are cheap models, as the following bit shows:

      Found this other article https://thelec.net/news/articleView.html?idxno=659
The first Samsung smartphone created via ODM by Chinese company Huaqin was unveiled on Dec. 18. 2019 The Galaxy A01

Wingtech produced the Galaxy A6s last year and the Galaxy A20s in 2019, via ODM.

The Galaxy A01 is the third in the Galaxy A lineup for 2020 following the release of the A51 and the A71 in Vietnam. These two were produced by Samsung on its own.

So we now know A01, A6s, A20s are chinese, but A51 and A71 are not.

Inva, 11 Dec 2022No, you are both wrong -- "basic tasks" does not ... moreFunnily enough, there are basically only 2 US phone brands (still made in china): Apple and Google.
The first runs ios and i dont like it at all. I wont use it.
The second has many hardware issues, for example 6 and higher's camera glass cracks, 5a and lower suddenly freeze and go into the Qualcomm EDL mode, etc. etc

And they don't even design a single element of their own phones, no matter what chipset is inside each of their phones.
Samsung has no way of differentiating their products apart from their UI, which itself seems like a spinoff of TCL's UI

Also agreed with your opinion, a 2-3 year old brand new mid-range phone would be a much better substitute imho, and Samsung definitely needs to be avoided at this price point.
I've mentioned all of their bloatware below. Makes Xiaomi and BBK phones look much better

8gb ram expansion??? via emmc??? prepare to reach the read/write limit until the flash chip dies in shorter time
anyway, virtual ram isnt gonna automatically make low end phones turning into a rog phone. it just occupies your storage. no wonder why end user storage gone shrunk in samsung phones. mostly caused by the absurd amount of bloatwares they put into. i couldnt call this as a real samsung phone though, probably its just an ODM made device under the samsung brand🤣🤣🤣 despite by the generic looks.
for whose are looking for a new phone for new year, dont even bother to waste your precious money on this one.

But as i told several times here i am just a bussiness man my company is seling what is available we cant force developers and companies to what we like.
                          They make on their own.
And as usualy any company uses any possible meanings and way to make even a single euro as a profit from anything just to not drain customers too much in this era where everything is greatly overpriced from what we had 10 or even 20 years ago.

I don't think anybody makes use of pre-installed Hancom and Microsoft apps (because most people tend to use PDF files instead of word documents).

Having 2-3 pre-installed browsers, 3 app stores (Google, Samsung and Amazon), 4 Facebook apps, 7 Hancom apps, 9-10 Microsoft apps, other Samsung apps such as S Health, Galaxy Gear (which I believe nobody buying a Samsung phone at this price point buys a smartwatch) etc are too much imho. Google apps are a bit ok since they are at least apps that we use on a daily basis.

I'm totally satisfied with the barebones setup of my phone. Only a very few pre-installed apps that can be disabled to my liking and replaced with better alternatives of my choice.

Minu, 14 Dec 2022You're welcome, my friend. I remember how Samsung w... moreWell man thats correct.
I dont mind samsung bloatware because some not most users will find several of their apps better than apps by google.
I prefer google over samsung just because of a less bloatware and a lot faster device with more ram to use (no fake virtual ram) and more disk space for relevant apps.
But i mind samsung bloatware since most of their low end phone if a 150-300 eur devices (can be called low end is discutable their are way costlier than competition which for 1/3 or even a half price output a lot better specced device those which are not killed by brand name and heavy costly marketing which promotes even a low grade phones as a quality ones). Just an example: J3 2016 started at 99 euros which was last samsung phone made under 100.
But yes as i told several times on theses pages i mean GSM Arena any phone and brand should come as a pure android experience just promting for their own UI apps just like samsung brownser, samsung clocks, samsung notes ,samsung calculator, samsung clocks etc where same app by google and mandatory one (one which is part of the OS and cant be deleted or disabled) is already there.
In other words forcing customers to have something they already have there is bad.
It could be nice for example but is not possible if company like Samsung should settle with google and make their apps mandatory where same apps by google wont be there.
I.E. Samsung phones will come with only samsung brownser excluding google chrome. Or Xiaomi devices will come with MI brownser excluding google chrome etc.
But having doubled apps is just a big no.

AnonD-731363, 13 Dec 2022Honestly thank you. Kudos to you my friend. You're welcome, my friend.

I remember how Samsung was advertising something called "Turbo Speed Technology", pretending their phones are much faster than Xiaomi phones with better specs at less than half the price back in the day (in case you noticed it in their YouTube channels) when I bought my Galaxy J3 in 2016.
It turned out to be useless since Samsung pushed so much bloatware with each update to the point that my phone only gave me around 300MB end user storage.
The same thing would most likely happen with this phone.

Also agreed on how much of a storage hog bloatware can be.
My Nokia 8 with 64GB of storage has surprisingly more end user storage than my colleagues' Samsung phones (including the A52s, which is a phone loved by GSMArena trolls with nothing special in particular, and most other A series phones or the S series phones) that have twice or more storage than mine. Sad that Samsung is just a brand that became ruined by its own reputation.

No wonder this phone would come with a much slower eMMC storage and terrible battery life. Reminds me of Microsoft's SysMain where it ends up slowing down Windows laptops atrociously when it claims to improve performance.

For a year of 2023 i would expect all phones comes with at least 128GBof storage othervise there will be a problem along with at least 6GB of ram.
Anything less than that would be a problem.
Many UIs cost a lot of disk space maybe new Xiaomi MIUI will cost even more we have to see but 6GB is way too much on their starter phones.
                                  Rest is as you said.

If it was my company i would give people an option to install what they want and what they need even if it would take 10-15 more minutes on a first time setup.
But forcing people to use and have things they will never use and they dont need is a big no.

Samsung seems too be one of the worsened

Its simmilar thing like Old PC had a turboboost feature.
You know you have it but the difference was almost zero.
                                      This going to be same.
Its like wearing coat when raining but that coat is made from materials which makes it wet and you get wet too.
So it wont keep you warm for long once it gets wet.
Samsung Heavy skin is another story.
Costing like 6GB which is way too much for a phone with 2GB of disk space where android cost around 14GB UI another 6 and you are left with 10GB for apps.
