Anonymous, 13 Dec 2022Yay another useless greed machine pretend upgrade....It will be an upgrade worth having for people who like Samsung. The 8gen2 chip is more efficient and not a run hot chip like Samsung produced ones so you should see better multitasking, smoother transitions, longer and better battery life plus improved graphics performance. It's the chip everyone has been waiting for ever since the excellent snapdragon 865/870 series.

Why should Samsung get an overclocked version when it's been producing inferior snapdragon chips for the past two generations the SD888 and non plus version of the sd8gen1. As soon as tsmc started producing the 8+gen1 efficiency was fixed. So have Samsung got a plus version of the snapdragon 8gen2 early or what?

UltraHD, 12 Dec 2022Honestly, i see nothing new except maybe 200MP?Honestly they could get away with a 2 year release schedule. Similar to what graphics cards manufacturers adhere to.
The rate of advance in mobile electronics has so very much slowed down that it is kind of silly that we get a new release each year. You can barely differentiate your phone from last year's at this point. It gotta start hurting their sales imminently.
IMO they switch to a 2 year release schedule sooner rather than later. Including enough changes to merit an upgrade would probably drive sales higher than releasing extremely incremental upgrades each year, tempting people to stay on their old phones indefinitely...

bunyip22, 13 Dec 2022A while back I'd never buy a phone without an SD card.... moreIts about having options. Maybe 80-85% won't need but 15-20% user would use it, manufacturers should keep it. Same goes with 3.5mm jack.
You might not need either of the two but someone might. Companies took steps out of greed and some consumers supported it. It wasn't much late that their favorite option was gone too.

Thinking about changing the battery and use it for a couple more years when the upgrade would bea real upgrade.
