I use it in Germany and there are also no ads although it's so cheap.
I depends on in which country you use it aka which region/language you've set in the phone settings if ads are shown or not.

never had a xiaomi phone. the old reports of too many ads in the system always put me off but might give one of these a try next year once launched globally

It have lless battery, less megapixels, super slow litterary crawling charging speeds.
Its way worse in every aspect.
It does not even have 1 inch camera sensor.
Even a front camera is garbage comapred to xiaomi.
Apart many updates it have nothing just a poor google tensor comapred to SD 8 Gen 2.

Well to be honest Xiaomi is always like a winner because for a lot better price gives much better specced devices compared to most competition.

techois, 25 Dec 2022it looks better than upcoming s23 (standard and plus) in al... moretrue. the gap between vanilla / plus models and the ultra model is huge. the plus model is just a vanilla model with a larger screen. the ultra is really a great phone with great camera, performance and battery life, but the vanilla and plus look more like cheap mid-range phones next to the ultra.
so if you are after the best possible, the ultra from samsung is great, but if you just need a compact but still decent phone, the xiaomi 13 should be much better than the samsung alternative.

it looks better than upcoming s23 (standard and plus) in almost every aspect - super fast charging, bigger batteries, the 13 pro also has significantly better main senor and and improved telephoto

I guess the global release of the xiaomi 13 duo will be in February this time, given the fact that the 12 series last year was released 3 weeks later in China and then started in March globally.
Yes, flat sides are pretty to look at but feel uncomfortable in hand. I know that from having had the Mi 9SE in my hands. And those sides were still a bit curved.
