I've had the Xperia Sola for a few months and still can't find a practical use for Floating Touch. I guess its kind of helpful for something to be highlighted before you click on it.

The cool thing about the Sola's hyper sensitive screen is that you can use it with gloves, nails, etc. Perhaps that functionality goes hand in hand with floating touch and Samsung will have glove mode on the Galaxy S4. That's something I've really found useful in the winter months!

While this will no doubt be the phone to beat in the coming year I can't help but hope this is a generic casing to hide the new design on the S4. Hope I'm right otherwise I could be really struggling to find a justifiable reason to upgrade from my GS3.

Will be watching the live stream at midnight (UK time) with baited breath!

I am sure the phone will have great features, UI and performance but the design look outdated virtually same as Samsung Galaxy S2 except it bigger of course, sure is one very ugly phone to look at.

The Sony Xperia ZL for me at the moment but will wait for Samsung coverage of the phone this evening.

the advantage of using floating touch was still dim at best. i guess people will look stupid if they use floating touch gesture when browsing in the middle of the crowd.

the updated smartstay was useful though

                    I think the S4 just a small leap from S3 or Note2

the upgraded hardware was expected, so nothing new here

The floating touch was a concept introduced by the Sony Xperia Sola. Good to see they copied it to the SGS4.

The Smart Eye tracking is innovative and makes you even more casual about not even touching a pause button.

Also the all new design that combines the best of Samsung(S3 and Note2) in SGS4 makes this a better phone.

Octa core processor is really just a quad core running the phone while the other 4 cores managing the power is pure genius.

This has got to be the most successful phone ever. Period.

Whilst you always have to be careful when judging screens from a screen itself, I have to say that to me, the SIV looks to have one hell of a much brighter and whiter display than the SIII.

floating touch still way too close to the screen so that it render the ability moot.
