I worked 911 for almost 20 years. Glad I don't have to put up with this!
It was bad enough in the days of a land line phone. On Christmas eve/day we would
get people that got a new cordless phone, and would push the red emergency button.
When we would answer, they knew it worked and would hang up, requiring us to call them back.

Well, Crash detection belongs into the car and all cars have it onboard out of the box by law (at least in Europe).
Outside of the car, nobody needs crash detection. It took Apple 3 years to copy a feature from Pixels that nobody had asked for.
This is the result of playing with people’s fears. Next year’s Apple’s life-saving feature: “Potential epilepsy alert” asking you to close your eyes when driving through a tunnel.
And in 2024 they’ll release “Constipation alert”, and in 2025 “Going down the wrong pipe” alert, in 2026 "Loud disco music" alert, …
