Google may have downgraded the Pixel Fold display, mass production set to start in Q3

The Elec reports that Samsung Display will not use the new tech that was first deployed with the Galaxy Z Fold3.

    I'd love a pixel foldable, but if it doesn't support a stylus it'll be Samsung for me!

            I'm waiting for leak which suggests that Google would use Snapdragon 730G for Pixel Fold :D

                      Nobody is buying this for $1800. The only ones who will rave about it are techtubers (AKA phone hobbyists/salesmen) paid by Google to talk about phones. Heck, I enjoy Sarah Grace but I still view her as a phone sales lady like iJustine and Krystal Lora. Put an attractive 19-year-old Latina on YouTube and it helps generate views and sales. Sarah can talk about paint drying and she'll still get 1M subs because she's pretty.

                      If Pixel Fold is using Z Fold 3's display, then might as well get the Z Fold 3 instead which has stylus support. I see used Z Fold 3s sell for under $500 in great condition these days. Why would anybody get this for $1800? While I see more people holding a Pixel 6 and 7, Google still has very little market share in the United States and outside of it.

                      A small market share becomes a problem after a few years when you want to source parts for it. And all Pixels have terrible resale value since nobody really wants them or buys them. I can buy a Pixel 4 in mint condition for $80 from OfferUp if I want to drive to Fontana but I don't really want it.

                        my idea is that this is gonna go down like the pixel buds, tensor, and likely the pixel watch. The first generation will be bad, and may be a huge letdown, but through the generations, it will get better, and will become a desirable product

                            Anonymous, 03 Jan 2023Literally everything about Google Pixel is old, slow and ou... moreold, slow, and outdated, yeah right. i recently upgraded from a galaxy s21 to a pixel 7 pro. the pixel feels smoother, faster, has better cameras, and the battery lasts longer than my s21 ever did.
