Given just how good Nvidia GPU are it's crazy it's being rebranded as rtx 3070

I didn't mind the idea of 2 version of rtx 4080
I prefer just have rtx 4080 12gb & 16gb Modals

The problems Nvidia don't understand people are not this rich they can be made GPUs cheaper but rather be greedy

The other main problem is well
At a asking price of $799

I want GPU model that cost that much
I want very long GPU lifespan

But game developers are out of touch with gamers and don't understand most people don't have rtx 4080
They have crappy GTX 1650

So what am trying say is software development developers need target more realistic pc that people can actually afford or buy

Also lots of people have laptops need the portability
Or other reason they just can't have the lasted and greatest or upgrade often

Instead of making games that required hardware specs that is so powerful only a handful high end system can run at playable frame rates and loading times

More efficient is badly needed for potato system be able play the lasted games far into the future

The gaming pc of 2023 is less powerful today yet games are harder to run come on we are going backwards

James, 07 Jan 2023Got a used 6800xt for 200. Who needs this expensive MF.Exactly. Nvidia just like to rip off people who aren't clued up on getting a much better deal. With the money you saved you could upgrade upgrade your card several times over before hitting the price they want for a chopped down card. They lied that it was a 4080 initially so of course they never had any intention to sell this card at a reasonable price. Nvidia just scamming and ruining the industry, not to mention they were so repulsive that EVGA even left the business.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2023graphics cards stopped be interesting long ago..... now u m... moreBasically, back in 2017 AMD launched RX550, the 4GB version could basically run any new game at playable FPS at 1080p if you were willing to lower the graphics settings, it costed less then 100 dollars.

Now, only "entry level" GPUs cost basically twices as much, 150 dollars, and your only options are either decent but could be better RX 6400 or meh GTX 1650.

Oh and less said about GTX 1630 the better.

Entry level market for GPUs is dead, it makes more sense to buy something like used RX580 for less then 100 dollars.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2023Yeah Intel CPU and Nvidis GPU are expensive. But they are d... moreRidiculous to see the intel being more reliable bs again.
                        This was never true.
Nvidia had better drivers, that's true. And amd (ATI) has had a bad reputation for taking too long for optimisation, that optimists call 'fine wine effect' lol.

But intel has been a 'hot' mess for a while.
And it has had more security vulnerabilities than all other players combined..actually multiplied by 3 or so. LoL.
The one thing intel had was marketing and making every tech-idiot familiar with 'intel inside' and 'i7' and 'i5'.

You'd never find a worse tech company. We'd still be having quad-cores had they been left to their own devices.
And they sold those meltdown infected chips for a premium all the while knowing that they can't be fixed.

AMD is no saint, as it is apparent from 7900xtx and the next gen Ryzen naming scheme. And that 200+ W bulldozer shit.
Zen 4 also seems to run hotter.

But you can't blame amd for Microsoft's mess ups. And you can't blame Microsoft for favoring their friends at intel like how they did with Xbox, because majority of people on Windows use intel processors. And a big reason why intel has near monopoly would be, the anticompetitive practices that they indulged in during the athlon era.
By the time amd could actually compete in performance, intel already got the mindshare.

the price tag says - just buy xbox

Much better name than calling it 4080 12GB. That said, it'll be a matter of time before AMD make an equivalent version of this GPU card for the same or lower price.
