"Even though these are branded as 13th Gen parts, they are essentially rebranded 12th Gen Alder Lake models."

This doesn't look like a smart move to me. Especially at the time when zen4 lineup is seeing big discounts and intel has increased the prices on the older 12th gen ADL CPUs.

Zen4 mobo's and DDR5 are more expensive, but you'll get better performance than from a cheaper build using intel 12/13 mobo and DDR4. Going for 13th gen intel with DDR5 is more expensive and won't offer any significant performance advantage over a cheaper zen4 build.

That title almost gave me a stroke

Rebranding 12 gen as 13 gen for i3 and i5 is dirty.

Jimmy Potter, 04 Jan 2023This shouldn't even be legal! To be fair, this is a good move. For people who don't feel like buying a super expensive cpu with features they may not know how to use, these options are great for them. I do also like how Intel now offers the regular 13600 without dropping cores. This is actually a good move for a lot of people.

Small correction in relation to the 12400 and 12500, the article reads "the difference between the 12th Gen models was just clock speed", whereas the main difference between the two was that the 12500 had a stronger iGPU compared to the 12400.

            This shouldn't even be legal!
