Sure it's "Android", but every vendor has its own version and Google is too clueless to dictate how Android ecosystem must be maintained support wise. Neither is there good security updates system that would be delivered by Google directly no matter what "vendor version" you're running.

                    I thing nvidia is using this architecture in their chipset.

                            This will end up the same as Linux on Desktop pcs. Without no one actually managing it and setting standards, it will be a fragmented mess (like Linux is).

                            I know some fellas who get wet about free open-source stuff, but no one will put effort into something if there's no business to be made out of it.
