I see lots of used 2021 Unlocked flagship phones for half the price. Even last year's Unlocked flagships can be found around the $450 mark.

>The Razer Edge comes with a Kishi V2 Pro controller.
In other words, it's just a gaming tablet with their pre-existing gamepad product they've had trouble selling lately.

Kangal, 07 Jan 2023I'm calling it now, the Valve Steam Deck is a much bet... morewhile deck has more library than this perfomance wise they are not that different, it depend what you want, for those who play retro games this will be better than deck due to better screen and battery life, up to ps2 and even switch in future.

I'm calling it now, the Valve Steam Deck is a much better product overall.
This device is nothing more than a glorified AYN Odin. Also note that this is "portable" like an iPad but NOT like an iPhone. It is NOT pocketable, meaning you have to bring a backpack to take it travelling. You may as well just bring the SteamDeck instead.
If this was pocketable, then it would be competing in a different market. As such, it doesn't have strong competition there. There's the PS Vita which was pretty overpowered in its day, but lack of games and support kind of stunted its lifecycle. But you can jailbreak it, which opens a lot of potential. An even better solution is the Retroid Pocket 3+ which you can find more details about it on YouTube or Obscure Handhelds. There's the GPD Win-2 which deserves an honourable mention. Just remember that all three mentioned pocketable devices are still kinda hefty, and you would still have to carry your smartphone in another pocket.
Lastly the best option to get, as a pocketable console is this.
Razer JungleCat and Samsung S10 Plus (QSD 855). They sold so many millions that the phone is still officially supported by Samsung, lots of parts, accessories, and custom firmware. Remember this is very easy to carry around in your pocket, you don't need to bring a backpack, it is not competing against Tablets, SteamDeck, or Gaming Laptops. You can stream Cloud Games anywhere outdoors, make calls, take photos, and all the smart-phoney tasks. Plus game with a proper controller. All those Android Games work just like the latest flagship. It can also emulate from the earliest Atari and Arcades, to the likes of PS2, 3DS, GameCube, Wii, and even Windows Xp. It falls short of emulating Xbox, PS Vita, 360, PS3, WiiU, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Windows 7... but those can be covered from a larger and more powerful device.

A high end phone with 5G, a headphone jack, large battery, and 2 TB microSD support?
I'm dreading that there's some catch, like it only works on Verizon, has the warranty voided by using it outdoors, or it puts Zack in the hospital when he bends it.

Still waiting for more details about the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1. It should better be noticeably different than the existing mobile SoC, or else I can't see any reason to get this device when I can get any 2020 to or 2022 flagship smartphone and buy a Gamesir X3 controller.

If it bundles with T-Mobile that might be worth it. Verizon, not so much, knowing their midband 5G performance and coverage is far less than T-Mobile. This might be good for people who are not traveling around as the mmWave is quite impressive.
