TM Roh to reveal details about a Galaxy-exclusive chipset that Samsung MX is developing

09 January 2023
This will be separate from the Exynos line (which is made by Samsung System LSI). It probably won't be ready for this generation, so this should be only a teaser.

lets just hope they dont lock down the bootloaders globally (samsung usually locks down their snapdragon devices, but as they are sold only in american markets, this doesnt affect most people). i have a reason to expect they wont however, as older devices that were snapdragon only (eg. galaxy s4, s5) were unlockable everywhere except america, and some versions of the s22 that are snapdragon but not sold in USA are also unlockable (i know the chinese models are usually unlockable, but these were sold in europe).
however, if the bootloaders are locked, i pray to god samsung goes out of business. i might aswell go buy an iphone, since this is basically the last feature samsung hasnt taken away from us that they have over apple (removing headphone jack, removing sdcard slot etc..)
side note: samsung sells sdcards, removing sdcard support from many of their phones has got to be one of their most stupid decisions..

      No Exynos, no buy.

IpsDisplay, 09 Jan 2023Well they said it's not Samsung electronics this time.... moreIt still use samsung fab

I'd bet there is still a 128gb option available at least for the S23 and S23+. Might be a minimum 256gb for the S23 Ultra

In last few weeks there's been rumors about S22 FE launching with a new Exynos chipset. it seems they were true.

kek, 09 Jan 2023There goes the "no more Exynos" plan 💀💀💀Well they said it's not Samsung electronics this time.. it's the mobile experience team...

So this might not be an "exynos" this time around..

I was ready to bash but I'll keep an open mind this time around

kek, 09 Jan 2023There goes the "no more Exynos" plan 💀💀💀Before bashing, let's see the real perfomance 😋

Anon95, 09 Jan 2023I'm wondering if this is going to be either a CPU chip... moreIts obviously a soc so it's better version of exynos

Anon95, 09 Jan 2023I'm wondering if this is going to be either a CPU chip... morewith Apple's M series and Qualcomm new Arm custom core i dont think Samsung will stay behind, they have to enter this market, Google is starting to support Risc V and Arm has problems for 3 generation now, their designs failed to meet expectations, without custom cores they cant guarantee their future.

I'm wondering if this is going to be either a CPU chip (successor to Exynos) or a NPU chip for photos (like Oppo's MariSilicon X). Or just another type of chip entirely.

I don't think it's a CPU chip since Qualcomm said the S23's will only use Snapdragon, but time will tell.

Galaxy S22 FE might launch with this new chip or Exynos 2300 coming on the way? source : just trust me bro

I think Galaxy phones will have an advantage in performance and efficiency if Samsung tunes them properly. The higher clocked version is achieved by selecting the best of the best 8 gen 2, and then increasing clock speeds, basically every one who has this won the silicon lottery
